FC: Olympia Avenue 2010-2011

1: Hall of the Year Bid Olympia Avenue has taken every opportunity to get involved throughout campus and throughout the community. We take great pride in our residents and are grateful in their desire to become better rounded individuals! Love, Oly. Ave.

2: Homecoming Week

3: Olympia avenue had great participation during the entire homecoming week. From the hall decorating to tug-of-war our students got involved!

5: Multicultural Banquet Olympia Avenue bought a table for the event and eight students from the hall went. It was a great experience for everyone that went and we are all thankful for the opportunity.!

6: Power-Up Conference 2011

7: We had a very enthusiastic group and loved this conference

8: Silver Mountain Ski Trip

9: Our hall took the opportunity to attend the Silver Mountain Ski Trip for the 10 year anniversary of the student recreation center. The trip was well planned and well attended and we were extremely happy to be part of the supporters for the awesome moment in our school's history.!

10: Sustainability: We write all our ads on used cardboard!

11: Our dorm has made a conscious effort to consider the environment with our activities and advertisements. We have held clothing drives, posters to encourage people to engage in environmental friendly habits, and informational movies on current issues going on in the world with sustainability.

13: Inn-N-Out Dance Olympia held a dance at the beginning of the school year that was open to everyone to encourage students to get involved and make friends.

14: Olympia Avenue Door Stop Decorating

15: Students at the start of the school year making door stops. | These door stops where made from leftover lumber from the construction of our dorm!

17: Quidditch The dorm took the opportunity to hold a quidditch tournament to encourage people to try new activities and get active!

18: RA Program A rootbeer float and nintendo wii party was held on one of the floors to increase dorm bonding between the residents.

19: Nintendo Wii Party

20: A program put on by our O-Team

21: Olympia Avenue Casino Night

22: X-Box Kinect Party

23: Our residence hall put on an all hall x-box kinect party to try out the new gaming system and offer a program that encourages people that enjoy video games to interact with other enthusiastic gamers and make friends in the process.

24: Olympia Government 2010-2011

25: Our government dressed up for our meetings and also provided snacks to the members to help the atmosphere stay positive and excited to make decisions for Olympia Avenue!

26: Mat Kearney Residents from the dorm attended the event put on by SEB in the Compton Union Building. This was an excellent way to unwind from the stress of exams.

27: Howie Day Residents enjoyed the musical melody of Howie Day's petal magic and the soothing blend of Mat Kearney's vocal talent. The event was talked about for weeks and was well liked by the residents that attended.

29: Pumpkin Carving Contest

30: RHA Reps | Andrew Chamberlin and Hilary Spink

31: Our RHA Reps have been an extremely beneficial asset to our hall. Both our reps have attended all their programing meetings at 6:00pm and the regular meetings at 7:00pm on Monday's. | Hilary has taken the time our of her busy schedule as a math major to represent our hall with pride and enthusiasm. Andrew has gone above and beyond. He is part of PACURH and the Entertainment Hospitality Spirit Co-Chair on top of his secondary education major with an emphasis on Family and Consumer Science. We greatly appreciate them and adore all the work they've done for us!!!

32: White Elephant Party | 2010

33: Some of the floors took the opportunity to have a floor gift exchange. This help boost morale throughout the hall as finals approached and residents began to become homesick.

34: Vagina Monologue | Our own Katie Wheeler was in charge of the event, and Ashley Larsen was a performer. We made sure that they knew their hall was there to support them in every way possible.

35: Our hall government purchased 15 tickets that we gave out to students in the hall so they could experience this event without having to personally buy a ticket. | The free tickets were a huge success and we ended up having more students decide to join the hall with this event then tickets bought. Some government officials stepped up and gave their ticket to the resident and then they bought their own!

36: Olympia Avenue takes great pride in the help we get from our staff. This page is to honor all their hard work! | Olympia Avenue RED & AP | Meg A. | Keith R.

39: Olympia put on an All Hall Holiday Party where parents surprised their students by sending them a present. The parents also helped by donating food. This helped boost the students excitement to finish out the semester strong and helped ease the home sick feeling. Presents were also provided by the hall for students who didn't receive a package from back home!

40: Volunteering: Hope Center and Orphan Acres

41: Residents of Olympia Avenue have been hard at work volunteering their time to the WSU campus and Pullman community. Students have volunteered at places such as The Hope Center in Moscow and also for Orphan Acres, to name just a few. These opportunities have made our residence well rounded individuals and has increased their awareness of what is going on in the world around them!

42: Family Fun Day & Kathy Buckley

43: Olympia Avenue volunteered at the Family Fun Day where they provided a cupcake walk. Some residence also went to see the comedian Kathy Buckley where shirts were handed out to encourage people to stop saying "retard". Both events were great opportunities!

44: Drag Queen Show

45: Residence took it upon themselves to attend one of Moscow's Drag Shows. This encourages students to be open minded and treat everyone equally and increases acceptance throughout the campus and community. We are proud to have residents that care so much about becoming well rounded individuals!
