FC: Caribbean Amazon | 2010 | Venezuela Brasil

Caracas-Manaus-Caracas, 2010 | This photo album shows some of the sightseeings and activities experienced during the trip in the Caribbean Amazon. It is almost impossible to show all the pictures in such a small format, but at least it gives you a small taste of what this amazing trip has been. | This was, more or less, the route we've followed:

 Caracas | Mount Avila | by4x4 | a | Chavez rules!

Rio Orinoco | Ciudad Bolivar | Selling Sapoara | A view over the Rio Orinoco

Canaima National Park | we made it

 Canaima Lagoon

Swimming and chilling at the gorgeous Canaima Lagoon

Behind the Salto El Sapo y El Sapito | I was there...

Trip to Salto Angel | Campamento Isla Raton

Salto Angel... on top of the world!

Pacaraima | Just a few waterfalls and tepuys

Gran Sabana | We enjoyed our trip amidst the rain, fog and puri-puris. We did a lot of walking and travelled long distances with our heavy backpacks... and loved it.

Eleuterio...you have many cousins over there... | Brasil, here we are! | Manaus

Getting ready for the Amazon rumble!!

Fishing piranhas, spotting caymans, paddling in the flooded forest and swimming into the black waters of the Rio Urubu has been a wonderful experience. Gotta go back some day...!

Fortunato, without you we would still be lost!

Sleeping on hammocks, fishing & eating fishes etc. etc. this is how it works along the river. | A Caboco family gave us hospitality for one night.

 Welcome to the jungle!

...with Fortunato we were in good hands

After 5 days in the jungle, a week-end in the Caribbean Archipelago of Los Roques was quite amusing...

Drinking tropical juices, meeting strangers, living in pousadas & tents, walking along coastlines and into jungles, sleeping on buses and hammocks, eating authentic foods (arepas, sapoara, empanadas amongst others), learning transportation systems, buying groceries; It was all a great experience, despite the puri-puris, getting lost sometimes and the cold buses. Immersing in different cultures taught us a lot and opened our eyes to a little bit more of the world around us.
