In a house which becomes a home, one hands down and another takes up the heritage of mind and heart, laughter and tears, musings and deeds. Love, like a carefully loaded ship, crosses the gulf between the generations. Therefore, we do not neglect the ceremonies of our passage: when we wed, when we die, and when we are blessed with a child; When we depart and when we return; When we plant and when we harvest. Let us bring up our children. It is not the place of some official to hand to them their heritage. If others impart to our children our knowledge and ideals, they will lose all of us that is wordless and full of wonder. Let us build memories in our children, lest they drag out joyless lives, lest they allow treasures to be lost because they have not been given the keys. We live, not by things, but by the meanings of things. It is needful to transmit the passwords from generation to generation.
Mom, Mom, Mom My sweet little mom! Mom, Mom, Mom My dear little mom!
 live | love | learn
Splish, splash water, Splish, splash water On your toes, on your toes On your fingers, on your fingers On your nose, on your nose. Splish, splash water Splish, splash water On your hair, on your hair On your face, on your face Everywhere! Everywhere!
Giving Ethan his bedtime bottle at night is one of my favorite times to bond with my little man. The day he learns how to hold his own bottle will be somewhat sad, but happy as well for he is growing up, becoming independent and becoming his own person.
Ethan's first time having baby food. He had carrots. Not quite the best taste yet he seemed intrigued to have more and more! Such a good little eater.
Took Ethan on his first trip to the Omaha Zoo. It was a great Fall day and Ethan seemed to enjoy himself very much. He loved seeing all of the animals and walking through the entire park. (Well, we walked, he rode in his stroller :)
My baby's eyes! What light they hold; What wonderful hints of wealth untold; Of lands where the flowers never die, Of tropic lands where the sunbeams lie, On diamond fields and hills of gold. My baby's eyes! There are hints in these Of wonder-land's glory, of sunny seas; Of ice-capped mountains and fields of snow; Of twilight shadows and moonlight glow, And the hidden springs of mysteries. There are hope and faith and glad surprise, And depths where latent passion lies; Sky-touching heights of peace and light, And rushing rivers of wild affright; And gleams of heaven in baby's eyes.
I think Ethan's favorite sight at the zoo was the aquarium. (It's secretly my favorite part as well.) He just stared up and watched the sharks and the fish swim by. It was tons of fun.
You are my hero, Dad You're my secure foundation. When I think of you, I'm filled with love And fond appreciation. You make me feel protected; I'm sheltered by your care. You're always my true friend; and Dad, When I need you, you're always there. You have a place of honor Deep within my heart. You've been my superhero, Dad, Right from the very start.
Sleep, little baby, sleep, love, sleep! Evening is coming, and night is nigh; Under the lattice the little birds cheep, All will be sleeping by and by. Sleep, little baby, sleep. Sleep, little baby, sleep, love, sleep! Darkness is creeping along the sky; Stars at the casement glimmer and peep, Slowly the moon comes sailing by. Sleep, little baby, sleep. Sleep, little baby, sleep, love, sleep! Sleep till the dawning has dappled the sky; Under the lattice the little birds cheep, All will be waking by and by. Sleep, little baby, sleep.
 THE END
