 How Mr. Stench found Christmas
 Josh Horn as Malachi Hugh
Now sit here folks, on my left and my right, I'll tell of a wondrous story tonight. A story that happened long, long, ago. In the town of Bethlehem, of which we all know, This season for us is a holy time, the birth of the Christ with His joy sublime. We have reason to celebrate and to clamor, They had only tax season, Not much to enamor. It's the story of an innkeeper with a heart full of greed, the love of his money was his greatest need.
How Mr. Stench Found Christmas | Kayla Gibson as lil' Zipporah Lou and Josh Horn as Malachi Hugh, the innkeeper
It was hard to believe all the rushing about, The innkeeper was so busy showing off all his clout. Why even Mr. Stench with his ideas all askew, respected the innkeeper and paid him his due Behind Malachi Hugh was lil' Zipporah Lou, Awaiting his orders to follow through. Whether to wash the bedding or the guests to greet. She was ready and willing each task to complete.
Her mother, Phoebe Lou Hugh was just as busy. All the people put her in a fine little tizzy. Her brothers and sisters all pitched in to. For at the inn there was so much to do! Phoebe Lou: yelled loudly from her window, "Malachi Hugh! Would you make yourself useful for once!! So much to do! So much to do! | Mr. Stench played by Stuart Rose | Phoebe Lou Hugh played by Rachelle Blanton
But late that night when in her bed she abode. Zipporah Lou would ponder about the man by the road. His name was Simeon and my he was bold. Why no one could believe the story he told. He told them to be looking for a soon coming king. Right here in Bethlehem His praises to sing. | Simeon played by Jared Osborne | Phoebe Lou and Malachi Hugh
 Kayla Gibson
Her mind could not fathom the possibility. That her town could bear one of nobility. No way, No how, she'd say to herself. I'll just put that thought back on the shelf Then Zipporah Lou back to her work would return. but Simeon's words in her heart they would burn. Tax season approaching meant chores were increasing and Simeon would preach every day without ceasing. Mr. Stench he would laugh, he would scorn, he would mock. While Malachi Hugh just hid more coins in his sock. Phoebe Lou frantically ran here and there, until even the guests were beginning to stare. Her sons and her daughters had no time for play. As evening came, the inn had no room. Why not even a corner was left for the broom.
Later Zipporah Lou went out to draw water. Doing all that she could to be a good daughter. When a desperate knock was heard at the door. She knew that the inn could not hold anymore. A poor young couple with quick words of plea. Joseph said, sir would you please understand. We aren't asking for comfort or anything grand. Carrying a child, here's Mary my wife. About to deliver and I fear for her life.
Malachi Hugh for the child did not care. But hated so much to lose even one fare. Finally Phoebe Lou so weary and tired, with compassion for Mary a room she desired. | The innkeeper willing to rent one more place. Decided to show them the cave just in case. So into Bethlehem night then they led the couple to find them a makeshift bed. With the animals that night they would sleep. Yes, cattle and goats, camels and sheep.
As Zipporah Lou walked back to the inn. Worried for the life the child would begin. This made her think of Simeon's king. Who knows what this night could possibly bring? She didn't know where a king would fit. Why she couldn't even find a place there to sit. Mr. Stench had laughed and said nothing would change. Old Simeon is nice but just a bit strange. Malachi Hugh didn't want another thing. To mess with the money this season would bring. As the evening wore on and into the night. Zipporah Lou noticed the sky was still bright. How strange that a star in the sky hung so low. Right over the cave, why so bright was it's glow.
The sky was then filled with a heavenly host. Praising God in the highest with a loud boast. Mr. Stench and the shepherds, when the angels they saw. Fell on their faces with fear and great awe. Who was this king that even heaven would proclaim/ It's Jesus,, Emmanuel, that is His name! Mr. Stench spoke with such awe in his voice. "I think to visit this child would be a wise choice. One by one the visitors came. Knowing their hearts had hope in His name. Then lil' Ziporrah on feet light as air, made her way to the Savior to gaze on him there. For the babe even in his small form had power over their lives to transform! What power, what wonder, oh my the glory. That comes from the king when telling His story!
