... and she's nearly halfway round!
... and she has passed the hide now ...
... and on to the Finishing Line! She speed-walked it in between 45 minutes and an hour. From everyone on the commentary team a very well done to Nicole! | Production Team Commentator: Ottie Otter Camera: Squiggs Redd-Squirrel Tracker: Farsight Tawny Owl Stills: Chip King Fisher
Monday 22 August | A day of forts and priories! | Driving to Birdoswald | Once at Birdoswald - an unusual sight: an accessible porta-loo!

 Swanning around!
 Tuesday 23 August
Shop signs in Dumfries - or is it "Dunfries"? | We drove up to Dumfries which wasn't as good as I had hoped so we drove back along the coast road, stopping at Caerlaverock Castle for lunch before coming back via Gretna.
 Caerlaverock Castle info board
The castle was super. It looked almost like a 1950s Hollywood castle from the outside.
 Inside the castle ruins
Gretna Green | After lunch we drove through Annan and stopped at Gretna. The whole thing was a tourist trap but I picked up a couple of empty gift boxes for a quid and a black cat memo board for 4.50.
 Taking photos

Rescue at last! | We went to the hide but couldn't get in 'cos we didn't have a key to get in, so we went home instead.
 On the way back
So that's why we had such a full car, Nicole! You'd packed your pet rhino, Woody.
Thursday 23 August | An early morning visit from Leah
 Lazing around
 Carlisle Cathedral
Inside the Cathedral | The painted roof
Stained glass at the eastern end of the Cathedral
More photos of the interior of the Cathedral
We were told these were the bells rather than the organ | Outside again | The Cathedral was almost entirely accessible which is more than could be said for the Fratery where the Tea Room was. There are steps down to it and no warning about the steps. | I nearly went down head first! It was a good job it was dry and reasonably warm as we had to eat outside. Not impressed at all.
Trying to get a successful recording of the water and its inhabitants
Friday 26 August | The Invisible Woman on the last morning | Farewell to the lake.
 Last walk to landing area
 Back to the car
Wonder what Bubz would think of this cattery, Nicole? I wouldn't have to leave her behind. | Relaxing at Knutsford. Nicole didn't let me take her photo - mind you, mine was dying on me, which would have made things more complex! | No way! 35 minutes in a car is enough!
We left Knutsford at 9 o'clock - it was very wet at that point. Decided to push on past MK home as we got to the mid-point Knutsford-MK [Watford Gap] at 11 o'clock. Spent a few hours in MK and we got home at about 5pm. with no traffic holdups, only on the approach to Dartford Bridge (inevitably).
 At last ................... | ............ I'm home!
