FC: The Porters 2010
January | Starting to get the hang of being a family of 3!
Luke's Blessing Day 1.24.10 Daddy blessed you to stay close to Heavenly Father, know that we love you, serve a mission, marry in the temple, pick good friends, and lot's of other great things! He was very nervous and joked about changing your name on the spot but he did an amazing job.
February Mom gets the two cutest valentines this year! Luke started off the month of February the very best way by sleeping through the night for the first time! Hallelujah! That blue chair Luke is sitting in is called the Bumbo or the bimbo as most of the family likes to call it. It helps Luke learn to sit up by himself and he is starting to get the hang of it, such a big boy!
Mom and Dad are starting to get out the door with everything our little one might need. Most of the time we over pack. So far getting to 9am church on time has been the hardest. Matching outfits are mom's favorite and loves that dad is a good sport about it.
March Four months old!! Luke has been rolling like crazy and loves to stand up. No giggles yet... instead we just get silly coughs.
March has also been a month full of firsts... First time going swimming at the Lehi pool First time going for a walk | ...and the first and last time Mike slept with Luke. We know he loves him but we just couldn't let him stay there.
This year the Easter Bunny brought lots of fun treats like a razor for dad and a basketball hoop for Luke! | Happy Easter!
May Luke is growing up way too fast! He can sit up by himself, we gave him his first hair cut, and he cut 2 teeth.
This month we celebrated mom's first mother's day with flowers and Grandma Stringham turned 80. We had a special party for her downtown. Luke loves to roll all over the place and sometimes forgets how to roll back to his back He also only wants to walk everywhere! | Loves eating big boy food like rice cereal and any kind of vegetable | Matching Hurley shirts and camo shorts | Peek-a-boo every morning
June | We survived our first road trip with Luke this month. We drove 12 hours to Newport Beach, CA. Luke was a champ in the car! Once in California the weather wasn't too warm so we shopped a lot, ate out, and tried swimming once. Luke learned that restaurants are the best and loved trying a bite of everyone's food!
Luke is officially crawling this month! Dad celebrated his first father's day with a hand-made mug from Luke
July The month of changes! In July we moved into Grandma & Grandpa Anderson's basement so Dad can finish his degree and Mom can stay home. Dad is also working out of town now Monday through Thursday and we miss him terribly!
Luke uses his feet instead of his knees to crawl like a little stink bug and he now can go up the stairs. He has learned how to pull himself up to stand and the infamous bark is as loud as ever, especially during church. | Mom has found a new hobby of refinishing old furniture, here is the computer desk she found at D.I. for $30, what a steal!
August Surprise! We were shocked to find out that we are expecting baby #2! This is such a wonderful blessing and we couldn't be more excited. Luke and baby will only be 16 months apart!
Crazy boy getting so strong and independent | Baby #2 due April 18th, 2011
September Dad's first day of school, such a cute student! Luke is walking around furniture and talking up a storm. His first words were "dada, mama, and baba" He also says ckk (yucky) whenever you tell him no no.
Toy corner and game day with Dad, Go Utes! | Baby bump picture 12 weeks | Cruisin out of the car seat, oops!
October has been a month full of fall fun. We visited Hee Haws with Kristin, Justin, and Allie, and Luke got to play in the first snow fall | October
For Halloween Luke was a dragon and we dressed up as Jersey Shore.
This month we also found out that Luke is getting a baby brother! | We celebrated Thanksgiving this year with the Porters. We watched football and ate lots of yummy food! The holiday ended the best way possible, passed out in dad's arms. | November
Happy Birthday! We celebrated Luke's first birthday with a family dinner with both sides. A few days later we would find out why Luke didn't have fun, he had Roseola, poor guy! Mom learned her lesson to just cancel the party next time the guest of honor is sick.
December | We felt so spoiled this year with toys, new boots, and a spotting scope. But even with all the fun presents we couldn't help but feel the best gift was having such wonderful family close by that we got to spend lots of time with! | Mom and baby #2 24 weeks
We spent Christmas eve at Grandma and Grandpa Andersons, Christmas eve late night we opened presents with mom's siblings... it may be the start of a new tradition! Christmas day we spent with the Porters and Christmas night we recovered.
