Once for Kate (nasty case of "hand, foot, mouth" disease) and once for Wes (severe dehydration) * Wes was promoted from Enrollment Trainer to Enrollment Supervisor ...and lots of fun in between!

We were stuck inside most of January due to poor air quality and the freezing cold. At least we had each other to keep entertained!

January 25th We had so much fun building a snowman! Jack loved helping put on the scarf, hat and eyes. He also loved going on a "stick hunt" to find the snowman some arms. It was so nice to finally get outside!

{ | { | LOVE | We had a fun Valentine's Day this year. We had Wynter Williams over for a Valentine's themed playdate. Jack had so much fun painting with the pink shaving cream! Wes and Renee had a nice date night on Valentine's Day.

February was another indoor month. We played all sorts of silly games to keep from going crazy!

Fun Indoors | Saasasdf sdfo | Kate started to scoot backwards on her tummy. At first she really liked it, but then she would get stuck under the crib! Jack also started "reading" to Ah-Ah. It was so adorable to watch him!

It's a beautiful day, don't let it get away.

The weather finally warmed up enough for us to go play at the park. And boy did we need the fresh air! It was a long winter. We loved being outside!

This little bug turned 1 year old in April!

A Smile As Sweet As Spring | Kate is such a doll!

Happy Birthday Baby Kate! April 14, 2011

Easter Sunday What a beautiful day! We had a nice devotional about the Atonement before our Easter egg hunt. Then the kids enjoyed finding the eggs; some were very tricky! What a wonderful day!

Cocoa Beach, Florida May 12-17, 2011

We were able to go to Sea World in Orlando and we also saw a cool car show while in Florida.

We tried so many new foods there, like shark, calamari and red snapper. We also went shark fishing, kayaking and we visited the historic Cocoa Beach Pier. It was such a wonderful vacation!

How can a boy best pretend to be a steamroller? | By steamrolling his sister, of course!

Jack loves anything about trucks. His favorite toys are trucks, his favorite shows are about trucks, and the trucks even sleep in his bed with him! The dump truck makes a perfect bed for Ah-Ah. | This little guy loves TRUCKS

 3rd Birthday Party

We had a truck birthday party for Jack and he was in heaven. All of the grandparents, aunts and uncles came to our house to celebrate with Jack on his special day. He was so spoiled with all the fun new toys he got. He was so excited about his new big boy bike.!Happy birthday, little man.

How do you cool off in the summertime? With popsicles, snow cones, a dip in the pool and a buzz cut!

Our talented friend, Jackie Dean offered to take some pictures of the kids for Jack's 3rd birthday and Kate's 1st birthday.

 Wheeler Farm Photos July 2011

 July 2011

All the pictures turned out beautifully. Jack and Kate are such wonderful kids and they both were in such cute stages at the time these photos were taken (although every stage is cute!) It will be so nice to have these images so later down the road we can remember what the summer of 2011 was like for our family.

We have had so much fun at the Hogle Zoo this summer! Jack likes the monkeys and the train ride and Kate likes the elephants and the carousel. We love the zoo!

Wes graduated with his MBA from Western Governors University on July 23. We are so proud of this huge accomplishment!

The graduation was at the Energy Solutions Arena downtown. It was a gorgeous day and we were blessed to have (almost) all our family there to celebrate with us. Even Grandma and Grandpa Ellis were able to watch online | He did it!

As soon as Wes graduated, our summer "officially" began. We spent so much time outside, especially up in the mountains. Wes taught Jack how to fish, we went camping with our good friends, the Williams', and we went for several walks around the neighborhood as a family. What a wonderful way to end the summer!

We were invited to go up to Wes' uncle Scott's family cabin for the weekend. The cabin is in the Uintah Mountains, at the Soapstone Basin. Wes' cousin Emily was there with her kids, and Jack had so much fun playing with Michael and Kate loved being with Halle. We had fun roasting marshmallows, going on "hikes" and going for rides in the UTV. Grandpa and Grandma actually ended up buying the UTV, so now Jack can go for "way way fast rides" whenever he wants. But we would still love to go back to that cabin. We had a blast.!

The Great Outdoors | Soapstone, UT | Labor Day Weekend September 3-5

 Jackson September 2011

Jack started preschool at Twin Peaks Elementary. He loves it.

We had a tour of the Midvale Fire Station for playgroup one week. Jack was especially excited for this playgroup because he is very interested in firefighters. He was so excited to wear his firetruck shirt to go meet them. | Jack loved learning all about how firefighters keep our cities safe. He got to sit in the ambulance, sit on the firetruck, see the firefighters get all dressed up in their gear and he even got a fire hat of his own at the end of the tour!

We had family pictures taken in October with the Summerhays family. We went up to the Temple Quarry in Little Cottonwood Canyon and Jackie Dean was our photographer. The fall colors were beautiful and despite the freezing temperatures, the pictures turned out great!

 This is Halloween

Trick or Treat! | We had so many fun Halloween things to do in the weeks before the actual holiday. We went to Gardner Village to see the witches, we went to a fun story time at the library, and we went to "Boo at the Zoo".

We had a blast carving pumpkins

 Carve out some good times!

 Halloween Night

We spent Thanksgiving with the Summerhays family this year. Everyone helped make the dinner, even Kate!

"Real abundance is found when we join hands with those we love."

On the day after Thanksgiving, we put up all our Christmas decorations and the countdown to Christmas began. We made a paper chain countdown and we also made a paper Christmas tree that we put paper ornaments on that said things we know about Jesus. The kids loved having the house decorated for Christmas. They had fun playing with their "Little People" Nativity, and they loved taking ornaments off the tree and putting them back on again. They also found all sorts of new ways to entertain themselves on the days that we didn't have any special activity planned: Kate pushed Jack around in her cart, she developed a love of sweeping and Jack loved wearing his snow boots from 2 years ago that are way too small! What funny kids!

 Waiting for Christmas

We had such a fun Christmas season! We went to the Festival of Trees, Gardner Village to see the Elves, Temple Square to see the lights (we didn't take family pictures there, but Renee also went with the Activity Days girls, so that picture is here), and we made gingerbread houses. We spent Christmas Eve with the Ellis family. Boy, were we all spoiled!

The kids were thrilled that Santa visited our house this year because they were so good. Kate got a doll, stroller and crib and Jack got a dinosaur and a new remote control fire truck. Santa must know these kids really well to know that the toys would be a huge hit! Wes and Renee had so much fun watching the kids be so excited. Christmas morning truly is magical.

 The Magic of Christmas Morning

Christmas was on a Sunday this year, which turned out to be really nice because we were able to focus on what Christmas is really about, our Savior. We only had Sacrament Meeting, and it was a musical program. The Spirit was very strong and it was neat to be able to see our ward family on Christmas Day. Our family also dressed in coordinating outfits which makes Renee happy! After church, we spent time visiting Great-Grandma and Grandpa Ellis and then we had dinner with the Summerhays family.

There is no better way to spend Christmas Day than by worshiping Jesus Christ
