S: Walt Disney World 2011Family Vacation

The first day was just for us girls! Islands of Adventure!

Talking portraits. They were very interested with the upcoming Quidditch match. | At the Hog's Head is where we tried, and disposed of, our butterbeers. | Hogwarts castle was IMPRESSIVE! It was so beautiful at night, too! | Skye is getting ready for her first day at Hogwarts! I am so proud! A witch in the family! | This is Dumbledore's room. He's up there. He's just hard to see. | We visited Harry Potter Land in the day and at night. The Forbidden Forest ride was awesome! We would have bought the souvenir picture, but it's hard to look cool with a giant dragon breathing hot steam in your face! We tried 3 times to look cool, and failed every time.

Ron, Harry, and Hermoine were on the balcony, but as soon as I took the picture, it was like they disappeared! | Gryffindor is ahead in house points. | The Hippogriff ride | Honeyduke's is where they sell Bertie Bott's every flavor beans. I must say I quite enjoyed dirt. It tasted like stinkbug to me. Sausage, however, was awful! And vomit, unfortunately, was spot on. Ugh.

Christmas was in full swing at Seussland! As you can see, it was colorful and gorgeous! I only wish all my pictures had been taken during the day!

Onto the Jurassic Park area. Here we scanned for fossils, watched a baby dinosaur hatch, and combined our DNA with dino DNA to make unstable clones!

We spent so much time at Diagon Alley, the Sinbad show, the Lost Continent with Poseidon, and the magic show, that we didn't get into the Marvel area until nighttime. The Spiderman ride in 3D was awesome! We had the best seats. Bombs, shrapnel, gusts of fire (including the heat), water, and the ground kept flying straight at us! Universal Studios 3D rides were much better than Disney's since they were mixed with roller coaster movements and real scenery. This page really makes me want to hum the theme song to Batman.

The next day we visited our first Walt Disney park, Hollywood Studios! (Not the same as Hollywood Arts.) | The first attraction we went to was Star Tours! | I can't wait to go where no man has gone before. Wait...that's Star TREK. I mean, cool. Space. I wonder if Han Solo is here. He's cool. | You can't tell here, but Skye was terrified of the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror...until she rode it Then she wanted to go again!

We watched a cars stunt show. It took over 5 minutes to walk here after we got into the front gate area! I took some awesome pics. I had it goin' on with the camera here! | Twin cars. One drives forward, one backwards. Their car friends can tell them apart, though. | Lightning McQueen. Enough said. | Evil spy car. Lightning tried to catch him, but he got away! | Fruit delivery trucks. Not conspicuous at all. | BAM! The car just went Dukes of Hazzard! | What's that gunman doing on the top of the building?!?! | He's FALLING! He's gonna get hurt! | Cars can't drive like that... | Or can they? I wanna try this at home! | Seems like overkill to shoot a guy that's on fire... | Maybe he knew about all those guys standing around with fire extinguishers.

After the stunt show, we watched a Muppets 3D show and played in the fountain. Then, the kids went and played with GIANT insects at the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground. Thai ate some of the gigantic oatmeal cookie you see him pictured with. He said it was delicious! | The bears don't steal honey from the bees here. Here, the bees tickle the bears for their picnic baskets.

The set of the Indiana Jones Stunt show... | Next, to the mean streets of Cairo. | The dust settles after the boulder has rolled through. Thankfully, Indiana is still standing! | Apparently the boulder's not as heavy as it looked! Either that, or this is one strong guy rolling it back into place. | Gold for sand... Who doesn't want to make that trade? | With explosions galore! And fighting! | That guy got knocked out by a girl! | More fighting - this time by the airplane propellers | Oh no! Gasoline leak! What will happen?!??

The next day, we went to Epcot. We started by visiting Mission Space, where we each pretended we were part of the space crew. Who was pilot? I can't remember, but we crashed! Next we went on The Land, a ride which talked about preserving the environment through innovative means, like this cooperative environment in which fish and plants help each other. Soarin' took us up high over the United States on a beautiful trip! It was Jasmine's favorite ride! | I want to be the pilot. I guess navigator's, too...

Then we took a tour about the world Epcot style! We visited multiple places, including Lilliput, and saw some of our country's most famous figures, animatronic-style!

We also tried on some hats! And, oh yeah, we visited Epcot's Future World. Jasmine wanted nothing to do with the hat-trying-on. Here is Skye looking beautiful for both of them!

We started Magic Kingdom off right at Space Mountain! | We didn't get pictures of the ride, but here we are in line with our Vinylmations! | On to Adventureland, where we visited the Swiss Family Robinson's treehouse, and met Princess Jasmine! | Jasmine refused to talk to Jasmine!

There were some strange people at the park. One guy was wearing a pirate's hat. Some other guy's shorts matched his backpack. Matey verses matchey matchey. | Here we are on the jungle safari. It was very scary! Not shown: CANNIBALS! (Couldn't take pictures. Had to duck from the arrows) | ARRRR!

After THAT adventure, it was time to eat! | Vinylmation dudes have to eat, too! | Is Jasmine eating flowers? Next thing you know, she'll be farting butterflies! (Julieta Venegas: Bien O Mal)

The It's A Small World Ride...

 Was Not So Small

Just hanging around Magic Kingdom was pretty cool... | We saw the castle.... | The castle at night... | Til Skye got in trouble with Cinderella | The Liberty Bell... | More Liberty Bell Here... | Met some aliens... | Tried on some 'staches...

At Animal Kingdom, we walked around a jungle-like area. We saw tigers and large fruit bats. In the Nepal area was my favorite ride, Expedition Everest, which involved a crazed yeti who tore up the tracks and threatened to eat us! | This tree got Jasmine's stamp of approval!

Skye's favorite ride was Dinosaur. In it, we went back to the dinosaur age and rescued a dino right before a meteor shower that made the dinosaurs extinct! We almost got hit! And we almost got eaten by a carnivorous T-Rex! | We ended the day with a train ride and a behind-the-scenes look at the zoo.

We were back home in time for Christmas! Jasmine was a bit sad because she wanted to open presents with our kitty. May had run out the day before vacation! She didn't come back to us until January 17th. We thought she was gone for good, and had even gotten another kitty. Thank goodness she came back to us! May looked very happy to be home! And tired! | Oreo was adorable and such a lap kitty! But, she didn't like kids! | We were SO happy to see May back. She was super-skinny, but healthy! Here she is, sleeping after she came back. The other picture we used on her missing flyers. | We still have Mew! She's one adorable fraidy-cat! | We're hoping Chyna and May can get along. We'd love to keep them both! Chyna loves belly-rubs and being where the action is.
