1: Dear Dad & Mom, Grandpa & Grandma & Great Grandpa & Grandma This book is given to you with love and appreciation for your love to God, your love for each other and your love to all of us. | At 25 Years | At 50 Years

2: The Adam Gutwein Family Adam Jr. Lydia, Adam, Margaret, Harold, Irvin, Ad, Gilbert & Toots Bottom: John & Laura Gudeman (Mom's folks) and Mom with Uncle Richard | This picture was from an article in "Country" magazine Aug/Sept 2010 It's Mom, her Dad and brother Richard and dog "Jack"

3: Music has always been such a big part of Dad & Mom's life. Here's Dad looking quite dapper in his drum major outfit and Mom looking cute in her drum majorette outfit. Here is the Hungry Five: John Buyer, Don Getz, Junior Wolf and Dad on the far right.

4: Graduation Pictures Dad in 1945 Mom in 1946 | Dad & Mom were engaged for an entire year | 1949 | That's Dad's new 1949 Pontiac behind them.

5: Dad showing Mom how to drive the detassler | Here's Dad & Mom ready for their very first date. They went to the fair and dad "hit the bell" 3 times with the hammer and chose for their prize a "dog", which they promptly named Augustine...for August 16th...they must have know it would be the beginning of a memorable life. And here they are with Augustine, 60 years later! | Muck Crop Queen Contest Winner 1945 | Mom back home from beauty school. More time for dates...

6: The wedding was at Mom's home (John & Laura Gudeman). Cake and punch was served there | Leaving the house after the wedding

7: At the dinner reception | Uncle Jun, Dad, Mom, Norma P. | Gifts to each other, Silverware and movie projector

8: Mom's very own beauty shop in "downtown" Francesville | If you got a "perm" you also got coffee and a dessert at Mom's "Home Shop" | Mom was the first beautician at Parkview Haven and worked there for many years. | Lots & lots of family perms and cuts by Mom/Grandma | MOM THE BEAUTICIAN...

9: Jerry's birth also brought a birth of far greater significance.. Mom almost died after he was born and in a few days Mom was born a new creature in Christ. In 2 months Dad too repented and became a child of the King. Mom's verse is Ephesians 4:32 "And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." On Mom and Dad's refrigerator is this statement: "The best equation I've ever saw is 1 cross + 3 nails = 4 given." Blessed Assurance Jesus is Mine... | Jerry Jay born 7-17-1951 | Joan Lee born 1-4-1954 | Jan Alan born 7-7-1960

13: What an enjoyable time your 3 children had planning your 50th celebration. Making the video, setting up the fellowship hall, such a special memory | Sandra wearing the dress Grandma Gudeman wore to the wedding, Tricia in Mom's going away suit, Jerry wearing Dad's wedding suit, Joan in Mom's wedding dress and Joy in the dress Mom had on when Dad proposed to her.

15: What an enjoyable experience we had recording our Gospel Choir "Peace" CD! We had 3 generations singing: Mom, Jerry, Joan,, Joy & Tess. Dad has been the choir director since he was 17. | Above: Jerry, Veronica Bucher,Vicky Bucher, Bonnie Wuethrich, Bruce Wuethrich, Valerie Bucher Joan, Becky Wuethrich, Linda Bucher, Blake Wuethrich, Mary Lou Bucher Left: So many fun times with the sextet, here we are at the motel in Alabama. | MUSIC!!

16: Dad making the sign for Parkview Haven | Dad working on one of the many pumps made in the shop to be sent to Haiti, they say "Given in the name of Jesus Christ". | New bulldozer & lowboy

17: What a fun Mother's Day! Mom had recently looked through all her and her relatives old hats and jewelry up in the attic and brought them down for us to see. We all picked out something to try on and decided to snap some pictures. Too bad Sandra was working at the Patio!

22: How can I ever thank you enough for all the help you have given me over the years! | Curtains, pulling hedges, trimming trees, painting,and the list goes on!!

23: Our Gutwein Heritage Tour was sure a trip to remember. Here we are in front of Dad's grandparents home in Crvenka. We went to a horse show and Dad was able to knock the bottle off with this whip. | At the 100th anniversary Gutwein reunion

24: Dad's 80th Birthday | Mom's 80th Birthday | Dad reading "The Bricklayer" He can never read it without cracking up! Mom's not embarrassed or anything!!!

25: Never afraid to have FUN! and let the kids have fun too | Dad & I experiencing the Bungee at Indiana Beach What fun!! | Camping in Jan's pop-up camper

26: We can play Hand 'n Foot just about anywhere!! | Mom, I've enjoyed the times you came with me to Florida and I came to visit you and Dad. | M O M

27: You even built your house with a "secret passage" for my cat to come into my bedroom... | I love you both so very much and am so glad God gave you to me! Much Love, Joan | Memories...running the attic fan to keep cool before AC, lines of freshly canned peaches, cherries, pears, tomato juice in the little basement, the tree house where I played with my dolls and cats...the horse tank swimming pool...praying by the sewing machine when we heard Jerry fell out of the haymow...decorated birthday cakes, letting me put my car in the garage, coffee cake, homemade ice cream from the cream from our cow Bossy ...clipping the walks with the hand trimmer, the first VBS, 4-H projects... telling you I want to repent. Continuing even now....listening to you both giggle as you get dressed on Sunday mornings, knowing you have always loved God, each other and me.

Our eyes water as we try to consider innumerable times when you showered unselfish love, help and concerns our way. What a privilege it is to run this race together. 74: From the Francesville Tribune & Lafayette Journal & Courier Gutwein’s Celebrate 60 Years Harold and the former Maxine Gudeman celebrated 60 years of marriage with a family gathering at a lodge in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. All 31 family members were present, coming from Haiti, Florida, Colorado, Illinois and Indiana. They are parents of 3 children Jerry (Janice), Joan, and Jan (Valerie). They have 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Harold is a retired farmer and Maxine a retired beautician and homemaker.
