42: April 12, 2011 Our chapter visited the Museum Bronze in Auburn Hills, MI. As an altruistic project books were collected for the Care House, a shelter for abused children. | February 8, 2011 Sheri Reid Grant and Julie Lamphier, of Attuned Mind of Clarkston, MI, talked about brain balancing and their work with both children and adults. | January 2011 Executive Meeting | March 8, 2011 The discussion was of the World Understanding Project and Dr. Will Bowen’s Complaint Free Living. This project is focused on helping people to center their efforts on how they want life to be rather than complaining about how it is. The World Under- standing Project plans to provide 60 million Complaint Free purple bracelets as an inspiration to all. | Also donations were made to create two baskets, a garden and a very special child’s chair.

Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills with the help of EDCO publishing and the Alpha Lambda sisters. This award-winning program uses art to teach fine motor, creative writing, and literacy skills. | WOW! 52: November 8, 2011 Our meeting was held at Pine Tree. The sisters had an opportunity to sample Zumba. December, 2011 Our December Dinner took place at Christie's in Lake Orion. A Silent Auction was held for Charity. January 10, 2012 Dee graciously offered to host our Executive Board Meeting at her home in Clarkston, MI. | February 14, 2012 Pine Tree Elementary was the site of the February meeting. Included was a tea talk, and tea tasting party with tea blender and tea expert Mary Jones. Mary Jones is a tea blender and the owner of InTu Specialty Teas. She has been in business for 14 years and sells tea to local shops and stores. The sorority members also donated items for the February Altruistic Project. The donations included shampoos, women's products, shavers for women and men, shaving cream, hand sanitizer, and other personal items. It is hoped that our donations will bring some comfort to those less fortunate.
53: The March meeting was held at Pine Tree Elementary in Lake Orion, MI. A speaker from the Oakland County Literacy Council for Adult Literacy was present. The sisters brought books to donate to this worthy organization. 55: With Gwen Kluesner’s tutorage, the chapter sister are able to create these adorable foldaway photo albums. The albums will be sold at the state conference. | Dee Vermeulen also gave a short demo of Send Out Cards, an exciting e-card program. Our sorority authorized the expenditure because once the requirements have been met we will make money on every card sent.

Betty Kibby | Did You Know? | My daughter, Robin, received her Masters of Library Information Science from Wayne State University on May 7, 2010. Kathy Lang | My first granddaughter was born on April 7, 2009. Such an exciting event! I am retiring this June after 35+ years of teaching! Cathy Smith | My achievement was to loose 20 pounds. A family milestone was reached when my son started drivers ed.!! Julie Monroe | On June 20th Dan and I will have been married 40 years. I will also retire in June. Lynn Burrell | I was elected Lake Orion Education Foundation Secretary. My daughter is getting married in October 2010 and my oldest son will be married in May 2011. Diane Dunaskiss | Our first wedding! Daughter Kate is marring Dan Evans on June 6th in Charlovoix. I’m retiring after 22 years of teaching. Arlene Formolo | I have been volunteering at the Lapeer County Historical Society and at Maple Grove Elementary School in Lapeer. Vicki St. Louis | On the 1st Tuesday of each month I am the group leader of the free community dinners at Congregational Church of Oxford. Twice a month I work 3 hours at Bed Blessings and Beyond, LOVE INC. I am going to be a grandma in July, my #2 grandson! Marion McGraw | This year I am the area rep for YFU and I am a host parent of a German exchange student. Gwen Kluesner | On June 20th Dan and I will have been married 40 years. I will also retire in June. Lynn Burrell | Currently I volunteer at Cranbrook cleaning mineral cases in the mineral hall, coach for the robotic’s team at Scripps Middle School, and teach Sunday School. I have 2 grandchildren, and I have 3 children who have graduated form college. Cathy VanCuren | I have had two published articles in a parenting journal. 76: I am blessed to have a staff that nominated me for Michigan Elementary & Middle School Principals Association Principal of the Year. Diane Dunaskiss | I am traveling to Chicago and Topeka to visit my adult children. I paddled in the Dragon Boat competition in Lake Orion during Dragon Days. I began subbing in Lake Orion in February of 2012. Carol Schlicht | I went to Germany in 2009 and 2011 to see my nephew and great nephews. I attend the ADK International Convention in Chicago in 2011 and the State Convention in Mt. Pleasant in 2012. Peggy Lane | I will be married for 38 years on April 29, 20112. Both of my daughters earned their masters this May 2012. One has a degree in Dietetics; the other is in the Rhetoric of the English Language. Cathy Van Curen | We have bought a condo in Lake Orion and are putting our house up for sale this year. We make a trip to Cancun every year and take our kids and our grandchildren too. Martha Northcote | I am retired after 38 years of teaching. I am having a wonderful time with husband Dan. I am Gram to my 5 year old grandson, Maverick. Lynn Burrell | I am working part time for school as a Learning Support Services teacher. Marion Mc Graw | My husband and I celebrated our 40th anniversary in 2011. We continue to travel about the U.S.A. We also enjoy many activities with our 5 grandchildren. Vicki St. Louis | I received my LD endorsement. Denise Skiba | 2011 Did You
77: Happily married for 35 years. My 2 adult children are happy and healthy. Our son opened a restaurant in Portland and our daughter is now an established artist having her first successful professional art show. Paula Spencer | I became a grandmother! In 2011 I travel to Europe to visit our former exchange students. We hosted two exchange students one from Denmark and one from Germany. I helped out with the EDCO education programs at the Chrysler Museum. Gwen Kluesner | Jerry has survived cancer for 3 years. Jerry’s retirement enabled us to take at least 3 trips a year around the U.S.A. I’ve presented book and poetry presentations at Clear Lake Elementary in Oxford. I continue to run our golf league and V.B.S. at my church. I still write poems and sell my 2 books. Diane Farstvedt | I received a pay raise for Masters + 30. My wedding anniversary is in September. We made it to 20 years! Courtney Kinney-Smyth | I have become a great grandma. I had three great nieces and one great nephew get married. Paulie Egner | Bob and I are still traveling. In October of 2011 we attended a wedding in London, England. We are traveling with friends to the Scandinavian countries during the late summer of 2012. In the winter we still winter in Florida and of course my annual visit to Vegas. Heidi Bass | We are enjoying life and have started to travel a lot, especially in the winter.
