FC: Dan & Julie
Hello, we are Dan and Julie. We understand you are in the process of making a huge decision, and we can only begin to imagine the courage it takes. Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about us, and for considering us as adoptive parents. We would love to expand our family and personally know how wonderful adoption is. We adopted our son Gage, and hope that some day he will have a brother or sister to play with. Having gone through the adoption experience already, we have an understanding of the emotions involved and the love you have for the baby. Here's a little about ourselves. We initially met twelve years ago through mutual friends. Once we began dating, we realized we had a lot in common, including our goals and a desire to have a family. We've been married since 2005 and discussed plans for our future that include many things, but most importantly they include children. In 2009, after several years of infertility, we followed our dream of having a family and adopted our son Gage. Through the gift of a wonderful birthfamily, our dream of becoming parents became a reality. We now hope to build upon that dream by welcoming another child into our lives. We were both raised by loving families. Dan's parents were married for 56 years, and he has three sisters. Dan is funny, creative, supportive, and most importantly - a great dad to Gage. He's a handy-man and can fix just about anything around our home. Dan has worked hard throughout his career and is very self-motivated. Currently he is in charge of operations for a nutritional food company, which is both challenging and rewarding. He works from home, giving him the advantage of having a very flexible schedule. Dan loves chasing Gage around the house and reading him bedtime stories. Julie has two brothers and a sister, and her parents have been married for 42 years. She is smart, patient, caring and absolutely loves being a mom. Julie enjoys entertaining and hanging out with family and friends. Having worked in several different positions as an advanced practice nurse, she enjoys caring for people of all ages. For the past seven years she has been working in surgical departments, dividing her time between three nearby hospitals and a specialized surgical center. Together we have 14 nieces and nephews, including twins due in a couple of months. We live in a four-bedroom lakefront home in a family-friendly neighborhood. There's wildlife right outside our door, a great biking trail and park close by, and year-round activities such as swimming, hiking, sledding, and ice-skating to name a few. Our large close-knit family lives nearby, and we frequently get together for holidays and birthdays, or just to visit, go boating, or play games. Both sides of our family are very excited and supportive of our decision to adopt again, and cannot wait to have a new little one to love and spend time with. It has to be difficult deciding whom to choose when you only have a brief letter and a few pictures to give you a glimpse of what life would be like for this baby. Hopefully our letter gives you comfort in knowing the baby we adopt will be raised with love, laughter, support and encouragement. We promise to provide a happy and stable home. We wish you the best and thank you for considering us. Dan & Julie
Hi! We are Dan & Julie.
In our free time, we love being outdoors. We like to go biking, hiking, and boating.
We both grew up in Michigan, however we really enjoy traveling and exploring new areas. These pictures were taken on a few of our adventures!
We live on a lake, so we spend a lot of time outdoors during the summer. We have fun boating, swimming, wake-boarding, skiing and tubing.
Michigan winters are filled with lots of snow, so we take advantage of it! Our yard has a great sledding hill and kids love it. We also like hiking along the shores of Lake Michigan on sunny winter days.
 Meet Gage!
A hug a day keeps the monsters away. | Gage, he's our adorable son! He's an energetic toddler who loves being outdoors, stomping in mud puddles, picking up sticks, throwing rocks, looking for dogs, and going for rides in his wagon. We adopted Gage in 2009, and it's the best thing we've ever done. We look forward to the day he becomes the "big brother".
A few more pictures of our little man. Gage is a chatty boy who is always coming up with new words and phrases. He enjoys reading books, listening to music and loves showing off his spectacular dance moves!
Hanging out on our deck with Dan's family.
