FC: Happy Birthday. We Love You! | IMA
1: What better time to tell a person how much they are loved, how much they are appreciated and how much they are treasured than on their birthday - the day they were put onto this earth, for this is the day that it all began. Before beginning this project, we already felt in our hearts the love, the appreciation and the admiration but, through looking at so many pictures, so many memories, so many good times, we have all relived so much of that love that has been the binding force of our family- and that love all stems from you. How can we possibly begin to thank the woman who literally gave life to us all (we left those pictures out!!)? From the moment you became a mother for the first time, you became selfless - completely absorbed with giving all of yourself to your child, How can we properly thank you for the years of sacrifice that continue until today? For the endless love that you've given us? For the essential values that you've imparted on us - the importance of family, motherhood, yiddishkeit, and continued growth? You have lived your life by example and as we have watched you grow, we have learned from you every step of the way. How can we ever thank you for giving us the greatest gift of all - each other? For being the one we can always turn to during our happiest moments, knowing that you will share in our joy with us? For being the one we can also lean on during hard times, knowing that some of the pain will be taken away by a mother who cries tears and shares in our pain? For holding us still, as you did when we were babies, but now in your constant thoughts and tfilos? Words cannot fully express the emotions that we are all feeling right now but hopefully with the help of these pictures, you can join us in our walk down memory lane and relive and cherish some of these moments with us. ENJOY YOUR JOURNEY - WE HAVE! | Dear Ima,

26: They assumed she would move to an exotic place Like New Zealand or perhaps Bombei Now Toronto doesn't sound TOO far When you put it all THAT way. In the cold and wet Toronto snow She would birth a family Perhaps be a Lactation Leader In the local La Leche League She would keep her kids really healthy She would feed them shredded wheat Buy natural peanut butter from Daiters And “Shebble Coffee” whatever that means | On the twenty-second of January, In nineteen-fifty-one A couple had their second girl though they really wanted a son But soon she was her mother's baby she was her father's biggest fan He was Dr. Jack Walker of the Bronx's Singing Walker Clan Then Anita and Jack Walker walked into Flatbush one day They never expected what they would be asked at Jeanette's first PTA The teacher asked them what they hope for their daughter one day They looked each other in the eyes they did not know what to say
27: She would take care of her own health too She would keep herself quite lean The twenty-minute-workout Would become her morning routine She would be involved in her children's hobbies More than many other mothers And to this end she would become quite skilled At playing Super Mario Brothers Perhaps she would become a baseball fan And know the Blue Jays better than her son She'd tape the games when she missed them live And write Tom Henke letters just for fun She would sing songs like Skinna-marinky-dinky-dink From Sharon, Lois and Bram And mix it up with some of her own favorites Like the Beatles, Genesis and WHAM! Jeanette Walker's parents sat in that Flatbush school Imagining all these things with great pride As they had a glimpse into their daughter's future It was like a roller-coaster ride | But even though they loop-da-loop Roller coasters finally coast And though that part may not seem as fun That's the part that means the most So where would their little girl coast to? Where would they like her to stop? That's what the teacher wanted to know When she asked ol' Mom and Pop “We want her to be kind and generous” “With a home open to guests” “We hope she'll be insightful yet modest” “And pass Hashem's many tests” “She should contribute to her community” “Maybe even be a leader” “We think she could do kiruv work” “Nothing would be sweeter” “So what if she's not rich or famous” “She doesn't need to drive a Mercedes” “All we want is for her to be a true, honest Yid” “And maybe one of the Chareidis”
