FC: American, German & Trinidadian Cultures

2: Hobbies and Interest | Cricket is one of the most popular sports of Trinidad and Tobago, with intense inter-island rivalry with its Caribbean neighbors.

3: Just like most other European countries, soccer is the dominant sport of Germany. | Football is one of he most widely publicized sports in American culture.

4: German foods are generally healthy and hearty with a wide array of choices. | American foods are diverse due to the variety of cultures, however, most diets are not generally healthy which is why many Americans are obese,

5: Food | Popular dishes are seafood of all kinds, roti, curry dishes, yummy festival dishes and various desserts.

6: Shopping | Roadside and street vending is also very common. Almost anything, from seasonal fruit and vegetables to mad bulls (large kites), is available from a tray on the pavement or the back of a pick-up truck.

7: Germans do not have as many 24 hour stores like Americans do. They do however have supermarkets that include department stores, grocery stores, hobby shops, as well as a wide array of other stores. | America has an abundance of shopping malls, department stores, and shops.

8: Holidays | Oktoberfest is the most world renowned holiday which contains a week long celebration (and heavy drinking) throughout Germany.

9: Trinidad is known for its Carnival. It is the most significant event on the island's calendar with a number of cultural events leading up to the street parade on Carnival Monday and Tuesday before ash Wednesday. | The 4th of July is a day in which Americans celebrate our initial independence.

10: Communication Methods | The electronic media and in particular, television, have become commonplace in households throughout the Caribbean. | The American society is one that is heavily dependent on media as far a TV, social websites, etc.

11: LIke most other countries, Germans communicate by phone. However, many Germans still use public phones and have phone cards that keep track of one's phone credit used to pay for the calls.

12: Health | The top 2 leading causes of death in the US are heart disease and cancer.

13: Accidents and injuries contribute to a number of deaths for Trinidadians. In fact, it is the 5th most frequent cause of death in the country. | The average life expectancy of German males is 78 years; for females it is 83

14: Since America is vastly diverse in its ethnicities, all four of the parenting styles (authoritative, authoritarian, permissive & uninvolved) exist in great number within the country.

15: Family | German families are typically not that big and only contain a father, mother, and 1-2 children.
