SECRET KEEPER GIRL In July of 2009, we began the first of eight dates with Mrs. Kristy & Zoe. We had so much fun and learned many good lessons along the way. The first date was a Pampering Tea Party. We learned that we are God''s masterpiece and our beauty in God's eyes. We had the restaurant 102 a bistro all to ourselves. I even brought my china from home! It was so fun!

Although we stayed in Ruston for SKG Date #2, it was incredibly fun...everything from the cucumber facials to Mrs. Robin Davis' lesson on skin care. You and Zoe learned that you are completely unique and beautiful.. Some of the beautiful things I love about you, Anna Kate, are your eyes that twinkle when you smile and your skin that is such a pretty, soft color. Your smile absolutely lights up the room. I love your soft hands that are so quick to love. . There is no one quite like you....
July 2010 Dardenelle, Arkansas It's been almost a year since our last SKG Date and many things have changed...the main one being our friends, the Stokes, moved away from Ruston. You two girls just "pick up where you left off" and still never tire of being together. | After our Heber vacation, we took a detour to Dardanelle to see our friends and to do some SKG dates! It was wonderful to see their home, their new church and to be in Arkansas (Woo Pig Sooie!). You two loved watching Disney and playing on your Nintendo DS's!!!
The Source of Beauty Secret Keeper Girl Date #3 On this wonderful date, the moms were supposed to take you to any place of beauty and solitude. Mount Nebo was the perfect place because it was less than a mile from the Stokes' house, it had a wonderful view on a mountaintop and it was in Arkansas! The challenge was to help you have a quiet encounter with God and to realize that the source of beauty is the presence of God. We also learned the importance of having a daily quiet time.
In the mountains of Arkansas, we saw one of God's most beautiful sights! | July 2010, Dardenelle, AR
The source of my beauty is the presence of God
I pray that you will grow to love God's word and make it a light unto your path.
Secret Keeper Girl Date #4 was a lesson in art! We had the Arkansas Arts Center all to ourselves and had the director give us a wonderful tour. Kristy and I talked to you all about modesty and the intoxicating power of your beauty and how it is your responsibility.
a Picasso painting | The art that you liked best was this landscape.
Tom, our tour guide was great. We had the whole place to ourselves & learned much about the pieces. One of the favorites was the wacky Picasso! | Zoe's favorite sculpture | our tour guide, Mr. Tom
We had lunch in Little Rock and went to another art museum downtown. We had our lesson there and learned much about the Gestalt Effect and how your eye finishes images; we saw it in the painting!
Labor Day Weekend 2010, Kristy & the girls came to Ruston for SKG Date # 5/6. Zoe made you realize that Subway sandwiches were yummy! And you learned some rules on how to dress modestly. Finally you all got to go on a fun shopping spree in Monroe. Aeropostale, here we come!
SKG Date #7 took place in January 2011 in Little Rock, AR at a kids' salon, Pigtails & Crewcuts. It was a perfect place! You all got new "do's."
Secret Keeper Girl Date #7 | Our last date together we met in Little Rock because we were going to Stacy Breeding's wedding. It was so fun getting excited over all of your new hair-do's! | Curls all over! It looked so beautiful for the wedding!!! | January 22, 2011
Key Thought - My beauty is ultimately determined by what I wear on the inside! | Clothes aren't all that we wear. God invites us to "wear" things on the inside too. I Timothy 3:3-4 says, "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment...but from a gentle and quiet spirit. And Proverbs 31:25 says, "A woman of God is clothed with strength and dignity
One of the most vital "heart" garments for an SKG girl is submission. Submission is allowing someone else to lead you. I'm thankful that you and Zoe show signs of a submissive spirit that honors your parents, your teachers and mostly your Lord. My, how you've grown so much since we started SKG in July 2009. It's been such a blessing seeing you two blossom into beautiful girls.
I thought it was so fitting to have the lesson of "garments of the heart" on this particular weekend when Stacy was getting married. You sat in on her rehearsal dinner and heard her friends and loved ones express their love and thankfulness for the difference she has made in their life, What a visual picture she is of this lesson! "Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord shall be praised." Prov 31:30-31
On August 15, 2010 you were baptized by your Daddy. This was a big, faith decision for you and we were so thankful.
SKG Date #8 An Affirmation of Beauty | Daddy Daughter Banquet Calvary Baptist Feb. 18, 2011 | Key Thought: God calls me a princess...
 ...and so does my Daddy!!
What can I say? I'm so thankful for this Secret Keeper Girl journey with you, Anna Kate. Time is going fast and you've grown into such a beautiful young woman inside and out. I pray that you will continue to grow into the Godly woman He has planned you to be. Always remember God's deep love for you. Your daddy & I love you so much! Happy 11th Birthday! Mom
