FC: The Baltimore Museum of Industry (BMI) Baltimore, MD
The Visitor Services Team greets guests at the front door, hands out museum maps, and operates the interactive exhibits.
The BMI operates a large facility out of an old cannery building along the Inner Harbor of Baltimore. This museum also has outdoor exhibits and rental spaces, further increasing the challenges of the facilities staff. The facilities staff is responsible for keeping the museum in optimum operating condition for its guests.
Pictured above are two text labels displaying the origin of the item(s) on display. The Collections Team at the BMI maintains the extensive collection which has been amassed from several local organizations.
The Media Specialists ensure the finest quality for exhibits incorporating digital media.
Perhaps the strongest facet of the BMI is the diversity of their exhibits. The Exhibit Designers have recreated key industries from the growth and development of Baltimore City. A few of the impressive displays are pictured here.
Many of the items on display at the BMI have been under the care of a Conservator after being accessed into the collection by a Registrar. These items are direct links to the industrial history of Baltimore.
While not being physically present, the signs of security and exhibit protection are clearly displayed around the museum.
The Print and Publication Team's efforts can be found just about anywhere around the museum. Their projects are usually the first link between the museum and its guests.
The BMI makes use of both indoor and outdoor space for their Special Event Staff to rent to clients. Pictured here are the indoor hall (top), formal meeting space (top right), and the outdoor pavilion (right).
