S: Bald Head Island - October, 2012
After a long day of travel for me, which included: Super Shuttle to DIA Airport, flight to Atlanta, 2 hour lay over, flight to Wilmington, car ride to SouthPort, ferry ride to island, and finally, tram to Indigo Plantation beach house on Sand Piper Trail, the first thing I wanted to do after all the hello's and hugs, was get to the beach and relax. Mom, Sophie, Chase and I took a walk on the beach.
Lots of fun things to do on the beach: find pretty shells, fish, draw in the sand, play with sand fleas (yuk), take long walks (Chase always wanted to go back), or simply relax.
I love the sound of the crashing waves and the beauty of the scenery all around me. They bring me immeasurable peace.
Beth took Mom & I around the island: Shoals Club, the marshes, and Old Baldy. | Buddy wasn't his usual self. His ears were really warm so we knew he was sick. | Later, Sharon discovered a very large tick on Buddy's neck. Poor Buddy. After Sharon carefully removed the tick, Buddy perked up immediately, & he was back to his old self.
Mom & I were determined to finish the 550 piece puzzle of Old Baldy before we left. We did it! | Dinosaur Bingo and Ocean Bingo were a hot game for Chase & I.
Sophie & Chase kept themselves occupied with their many interests. | Ipad | Drawing | Uno | Attracting Butterflies with sugar water | Drawing
Chase as Captain America | Sophie as Bigfoot | Sharon as Frankenstorm
Hurricane Sandy was heading to shore, but we were brave, and went trick or treating anyway, in the rain.
The kids were really excited about their loot, especially Chase, as he loves 'tandy'. | They were willing to share their candy, but for a price at their candy store. Like father like kids. | Fun times
Hurricane Sandy blew her way ashore.
