FC: THE GREAT DEPRESSION By: Tylahr Dawes 3B
1: On Black Tuesday, October 29, 1929, the day the stock market crashed and the beginning of the Great Depression.
2: Because of the stock market crash, many people lost their jobs and business. Families were very much affected by the stock market crash. and they were fighting for answer! GIVE US ARE MONEY BACK!!!!!!! Everyone scream and shouted for answers.
3: Little Sara and Joe where unaware of the horrible situation. Their mother Amy was there to help them feel safe and keep them unaware of what was happening. She wanted them to stay happy and not worried about money
4: Federal Reservre's control of money: The Fed's were unable to prevent the fall of the nation's banking system. which lead to the decrease in the nation's supply of money | Over population was another cause of the great depression. American didn't have enough money to buy up the goods factories produces. so there were to much products and no one brought anything.
5: Income Disparity: People weren't getting payed the same amount. Mr. Sam and Mr. Bill work in the same steel mill. But Mr, Sam gets paid more the Mr. Bill

7: Mr. ans Mrs, Jones and their 3 kids are poor and that have mo one. Mr, Jones goes out every day to find a job so he can support the family.
8: Every day mom and the 3 children go out and wait in a long line for Hoover stew and blankets to keep warm at night
9: The Jones family has a friend that is a Hobo. What is a Hobo you ask? They are people that wander around the country in search of work or a better life.
10: One day while the kids were sleeping. They were waken by screams of a large crowd. The veterans marched to Washington DC for $1,000 bonus they were to get in 1945. Something happed during the march, Hoover sent General MacArthur to clear out Bonus marchers; 2 people where killed. The Jones family was worried about uncle Dan because he was there. But he was fine but he was never the same.
12: President Roosevelt creates new programs to bring America back from the Great Depression. The new programs bring hope back to the Americans.
13: WPA: Works Progress Administration: Government hired people to construct public buildings and roads, and operated large arts, drama, media, and Literacy projects
14: Federal Housing Administration- Designed to regulate mortgage and housing conditions to help homeowners.
