Here we are in Fantasyland. We did some serious shopping at Le Petit Chalet, the Castle Heraldry Shoppe and The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique..

The girls took a ride on the royal King Arthur Carrousel.

We stopped for a visit at Snow White's Grotto and made a wish in the well.

An evening stop to Pixie Hollow - the fairies must have gone to bed already.

Waiting for our first parade - Disney's Celebration Parade!

 Celebrate A Street Party!

We used our Early Arrival Pass on Thursday and started at 7am! It was worth it - we started in Tomorrowland with the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, Space Mountain, and the Astro Orbitor.

We explored Adventureland, Tumbling into The Temple of the Forbidden Eye on the Indiana Jones Adventure.

Then we climbed into Tarzan's Treehouse and discovered a bird's eye view of the surrounding wilderness.

Back to Pixie Hollow in the day time to meet the Fairies.

Getting some pictures withFawn, Tinker Bell, and Terrance (Willa was a little shy).

The girls as they were spinning in their cup at the Mad Tea Party in Fantasyland.

Jacob and Kris followed in the steps of a Jedi Master at the Jedi Training Academy and prepared for the ultimate encounter with the Dark Side of the Force. May the Force be with you!

Willa and Hallie waiting in line for Alice in Wonderland where we followed the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole into the topsy-turvy realm of Wonderland where cats disappear into thin air, giant flowers sing and the spiteful Queen of Hearts commands a mad army of playing cards. Look at the huge lollipop keeping Willa busy!

The Queen of Hearts "Off with your head!" | Taking a ride on the blue caterpillar. | Cheshire the Cat | The White Rabbit "Oh my - we're late!"

Sightings of the Queen of Hearts, the White Rabbit, Alice, and the Mad Hatter. A good photo op of the entrance to Tomorrowland and Buzz Lightyear.

We took a ride on the Storybook Land Canal Boats. There were charming miniature reproductions of locations from some of our favorite Disney animated films.

Next we visited the enchanting Disney Princess Fantasy Faire. We saw some of our favorite Disney Princesses — including Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora. We watched a medieval play and found some great souvenirs. .

Laila, Hallie, Natalie, and Jacob with their face paintings.

The kids fuel up on delicious turkey legs from the charming cottage of Edelweiss Snacks.

The princesses and their attendants taught us all how to properly dance for the Royal Ball.

Here we are in Mickey's Toontown, an interactive metropolis full of topsy turvy architecture and screwy sculptures. We visited the charming houses of Mickey, Minnie, and other Disney characters and rode on Gadget's Go Coaster.

Waiting to ride "it's a small world"

Since our visit fell over the Christmas Season, "it's a small world" was transformed into "it's a small world" Holiday. The classic "it's a small world" song was mingled with traditional holiday tunes, regional holiday decorations brightened up the ride, and thousands of festive lights adorned the attraction facade.

Hallie got a surprise photo op with Cinderella and here's Willa eating a snack in her stroller.

Jacob and Hallie practiced their aim in the shooting gallery at the Frontierland Shootin' Exposition.

We did so many things that weren't captured in pictures. Here's a list of a few of those: In Frontierland we rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad - a runaway train that twisted through desert canyons, creaking mine shafts, and pitch black caverns - also Willa's first real rollercoaster ride. | In New Orleans Square we rode the famous Pirates of the Caribbean - which now features Captain Jack Sparrow! We also toured the park on the old-fashioned locomotive Disneyland Railroad. In Critter Country we rode The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. In Fantasyland we rode the Matterhorn Bobsleds - a roller coaster that slid down Matterhorn Mountain past icy slopes, twisting caves, and plunging waterfalls (did this a few times). We also relived the frightful moments of Snow White and the Seven Dwarf's on Snow White's Scary Adventure. We explored the winding passageways hidden inside Sleeping Beauty's Castle. In Tomorrowland we explored the latest technologies with high-tech interactive exhibits in Innoventions.

Hot shopping spots included: The Star Trader in Tomorrowland- Jacob stocked up on Star Wars Goods The Mad Hatter in Main Street USA - we all designed our own 'ears' Ridemakerz, the LEGO Imagination Center, and The World of Disney in the Downtown Disney District Greetings from California at Disney's California Adventure Park

For Thursday evening at the parks - we went to California Adventure to watch The World of Color. It was a nighttime water spectacular that weaved water, color, fire and light into a kaleidoscope of fantasy and imagination. Afterward, the Kayfes Family headed back to the hotel to get some sleep while the Simmons group got in a couple more rides. Here's Hallie riding King Triton's Carousel at Paradise Pier.

Here they are with a lucky photo op with Micky and Minnie Mouse!

Friday morning and back to Disneyland for the park opening. We started in Fantasyland this time.

First Stop: Mr. Toad's Wild Ride - then to Peter Pan's Flight.

Waiting in line for Peter Pan's Flight where we soared from London to Never Land island in a flying pirate galleon and watched the daring adventures of Peter Pan as he confronted his dreaded arch-nemesis, Captain Hook.

Off we went to New Orleans Square. From Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, Jack Skellington and his crew gave the Haunted Mansion a Christmas makeover. That Oogie Boogie Man just can't get Christmas right!

The Matterhorn Bobsleds Ride - we rode this a few times. (Fantasyland) | The top of the Astro Orbitor. (Tomorrowland) | Redd Rockett's Pizza Port - we ate there for our first dinner. (Tomorrowland) | Space Mountain - probably the favorite roller coaster ride of them all. (Tomorrowland)

We took the wheel and whirled around the tracks of Autopia, a fun-filled roadway where we got to be the driver of our own small car.

We rode the Disneyland Monorail Ride to the Downtown Disney District for some serious shopping. The Monorail is a high-speed, "green" transportation system that rockets along a single rail that circles Disneyland Park! There are aerial views of Fantasyland and Tomorrowland in Disneyland Park and Condor Flats, Sunshine Plaza and Hollywood Pictures Backlot in Disney's California Adventure Park. The route also parallels Harbor Boulevard and travels over the Disneyland Main Entrance and Entrance Plaza.

Waiting Friday night on Main Street USA for the Christmas Fantasy Parade There were trumpeting toy soldiers, romping reindeer and skating snowflakes. Characters included Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and several Disney Princesses and at the end - Santa Claus!

After the Christmas Parade - we went over to "it's a small world" to get a good viewing spot to see the "Believe... in Holiday Magic" Fireworks Show.

A friendly lady at the parade gave us Fast Pass tickets for Space Mountain - last ride of the day

Sleeping Beauty's Winter Castle With snow-capped turrets, sparkling icicles and shimmering lights, the original Disney theme park castle is a winter palace to behold

We were up bright and early Saturday to spend our last full day at California Adventure Park. Most of the group headed straight to Paradise Pier to ride California Screamin' rollercoaster. Kim and Willa headed to A Bug's Land, where they shrank to the size of the land's inhabitants so that they could see things from a bug's point of view. They discovered wonderful insect details like the fireflies whose bottoms become lamplights, as well as the towering flowers. They also rode (a few times) Heimlich Chew Chew Train as he winds his way through one snack after another.

Mickey's Fun Wheel rises up to approximately 150 feet into the air for 9 exhilarating minutes - some of us counted.! | We all rode on one of the 16 free-mounted" gondolas that slip and slide back and forth along the tracks inside the spokes. The vibrant gondolas each feature the happy face of one of the Disney characters - Kim didn't notice.

Views from Mickey's Fun Wheel (we rode all of these at some point) | Paradise Bay | Grizzly River Run | Grizzly River Run | California Screamin' | Tower of Terror | The Golden Zephyr

Walking down Paradise Pier to Ariel's Grotto for lunch, where we had a magical meal where Disney Princesses graced our table with their royal presence.

We went to The Golden State to the Redwood Creek Challenge. The kids explored forest paths, climbed lookout towers, and swung on rope bridges. Then we all climbed into a white water raft and crashed over the rapids on the Grizzly River Run.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror - For the longest 2 minutes of our lifes, we rose and fell at terrifying speeds in the hotel's haunted elevator, again and again! In Soarin' Over California our feet dangled free as we were suspended up to approximately 45 feet in the air. We were immersed inside a high-speed Omnimax film projected all around us on a massive 80-foot domed screen. Our flight was accompanied by calming movement and a tranquil musical soundtrack The kids cooled off in the jets outside of Soarin' Over California.

In Disney's Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular, we laughed along with the wise-cracking Genie and the rest of the captivating cast in this Broadway-style musical based on the classic animated Disney film, Aladdin!

The girls hopped into a discarded food carton in 'a bug's life' for a brief flight in Flik's Flyers. Our last show was Fantasmic - where the forces of good and evil battle in Mickey's dreams.!.
