There I was, alone, swaying back and forth, hundreds of feet above the ground, not knowing what to do. | Finally I felt a jolt, it was up and running again. But that's just the beginning.
My friends had abandoned me to go down the hardest run on the whole mountain by myself! I had no choice but to go down it, so I went.
I fell multiple times right away. Those were alright but not the next one. I fell over and lost both skis and one pole! | I attempted to search for them myself. I clearly failed when after ten minutes I had found nothing.
I called for help to everyone that skied past, but nobody stopped. I even tried calling my Mom back at the house and she said she would send my brother out. | Finally a very nice family of two parents and two teenagers nicely stopped and asked me what was wrong.
I told them about my wipe-out and loosing my skis and pole. They cleverly had the idea to stab our remaining poles in the snow in hope of hitting one of my items. | Rather quickly one of them found both of my skis fifteen feet down the run and another found my pole five feet up.
I thanked them many times and we were on our way down the rest of the mountain. | I decided to take it slow and cautious for the rest of the way. I had already had all of the falling I wanted for one day.
I completely had forgotten about my brother...until I got back to the house. It turned out he got to where I was right after I left. | You could bet he was not too happy with me. But, he got over it and we all enjoyed the rest of our day...at the house.
