Leilani My Puggle | She has black floppy ears the size of her head, Her face coloring ranges from a dark black to a tan gold. Wrinkles coat her face like sprinkles on cupcakes. Her giant eyes bulge out of her tiny head and seem to beg to great extent – please? Her nose makes up most of her face; it’s flattened and looks as if it were a pancake. Her teeth form an under bite, so when she is angry, one tooth loosely juts out of her mouth. Four black dots hold the few whiskers on each side of her face. An extra fold of skin dangles from beneath her mouth. However, she’s not necessarily that fat. | She has a short broad chest with a crystal embedded name tag. Her arms are short and stubby like the rest of her body, And her paws are the size of gumballs. She has a potbelly that almost reaches to the ground; she is always strutting proudly. Leilani is bow-legged and stocky with a curly Beagle patterned tail. Leilani you have quite the characteristics; however, if you try to pull something on the family based on your cuteness and attitude – good luck.
The Uneven Bar Routine | Smack. I grasp the chalky wooden bar, and glide into a kip, Taking a big cast, I flip around the bar, letting my hips spiral around the wood freely, popping my hands around and over. Once more, I cast and glide into a kip, and when pulling back up, tuck my legs tightly and place my feet gently on the chalky bar. Slowly I begin to stand up, the air powdered, environment chalky. I feel as if I’m inside a snow globe; is it a dream? The wind hits my face as I fly through the air, I feel as if I’m on the moon – there’s no gravity. I snag the other bar in my powdered hand, and use the momentum from my powerful jump to swing into my kip. I take a huge cast to handstand, make my toes pointed and legs glued together, I squeeze tightly and flip my hands over the bar and I now find myself in a hollow position. I snag the other bar in my powdered hand, and use the momentum from my powerful jump to swing into my kip. I take a huge cast to handstand, make my toes pointed and legs glued together, I squeeze tightly and flip my hands over the bar and I now find myself in a hollow position. | I fatefully fall backwards, but manage to cling to the bar; the gravity is pulling me in the other direction. I release my hands and I am sent back to the low bar once again. Smack.
Those Blue Nike Tennis Shoes | Those blue Nike tennis shoes, with shocks and a big arch, They glistened in the sun light, shined brightly in the dark. They fit my feet perfectly, allowed me to be comfortable when I ran, They gave me amazing heel support; they were faster than a van. They helped me through tendonitis, and it wasn’t easy to do that, They had cushioned gel heel pads inside of them; they felt just like a mat They were clean and glistening, smooth and so brand new, From the moment I set eyes on them, I knew it was the perfect shoe. Then I saw something bruised and battered, appalling to the eye, They were brown, sagging, and dirty; I thought I just might cry. They were spread out on the floor, laces tangled in huge knots, I looked down to see my shoes, with bunches of dirt clots. | My sister brought them to soccer, got them smelly, worn, and brown, Then when I looked at them I just frowned, like a sad, disappointed clown. Mom, Mom, I yelped, look what Samantha did to my shoes! Wash them off, not a big deal, was this really important news! I hand washed them the next morning, they sparkled once again, I eagerly put them on after washing, anxious and ready for the day to begin Back to my usual comfort; my sister’s behind tanned, When I was walking back from a long day of school, I knew then that I loved the brand. Now they’re in my closet, protected and safe at last, They help me run throughout each day all the while real fast.
Hobart M. Cable | His name is Hobart M. Cable; he’s a product of Story and Clark. He has tall wooden rods, a sturdy heavy back, and feet that are golden, rounded, and polished. Where the rods end, a shelf stands, holding Hobart’s black and white teeth. With every touch, a sound belches from within him, and projects a loud note. Reminding me of my dad’s burps after the Super Bowl. Heavy books rest on his stand, and add flare to the plain dull brown His top is bright and shining, like a penny freshly dipped in baking soda. A domed mirror which points at the top rests on Hobart’s head. | The mirror reflects and captures every graceful movement. Some people need a stool to reach him properly, like me. Whenever I begin to play Hobart, he lightens up my day, My mood becomes joyful. The pieces I play can be happy or sad, But no matter which one it is I am always feeling glad. Hobart is generous and kind, Letting me practice on him daily. Hobart is my magnificent, wonderful, piano, Who brings me great joy and inspiration to my everyday life.
Grandpa You're Still in My Heart | I can still see him “put on his Hollywood smile”, wake up at six a.m. and do a crossword puzzle without question. He was an Albert Einstein of crossword puzzles. When going into town, he would always show pictures of his two “beautiful” granddaughters. He was a man full of delight, forgiveness, and was always very generous. Whenever we flew out to visit him, he would let us use his scooter in the driveway. “Stop! To pass through you must give me a hug!” He shared much love and support for the two of us granddaughters.
Most of the time he sits in his tan, firm chair; it was his safe haven. The chair was huge and had a lounger for your feet, two compartments, one on each side, filled with multiple puzzles, strength exercises, and felt tipped pens. He used the felt tipped pens when he measured me and my sister against the wall and would mark it; “wow, you got bigger from last time he said in exaggeration.” The comfort he gave me was outstanding, the generosity was the best. It was rough seeing him pass, but I know he will always be with me in my heart.
Goofy | January 26, 2011 Dear Goofy, Ever since we have gotten Leilani, you’ve been acting strangely. Goofy, you’ve been rebellious and destructive, when have you become the fallen angel? You have been scratching and clawing at Leilani and it’s unnecessary. It makes it harder on the family to keep having to monitor you like shark and fish. And seriously, never going to the bathroom for ten years and now going inside of the house?! You’ve never done that before – ever, and I pray that you never will again. I want you to be you again, the sweet loving; loyal, most well behaved pet the family’s ever had. You were always there for me when I needed you the most; through tears and fights, work and wailing, and love and comfort. | You showed me what having a pet was all about, so don’t take things the wrong way, we’re giving Leilani attention because we are trying to train her as well as you. (Its not really working out, but still.) If you want to help, or need the challenge, you’re welcome to help too. Through you being abandoned, abused, and living on the streets, our family has taken you in and promise with all our hearts not to let anything happen to you. Since then, and right now, we (the family), are here for you. P.S. Although times will be tough, you will always be our “King Goofy”, - forever and always. Your caring owner, Malia
Venice, Italy | The turquoise misty water flows freely throughout Venice’s Canals, Gondolas are floating in all directions, while boats are sprinkled everywhere like cheese on a pizza. Big bridges branch beautifully across Venice’s waterways, These decorated bridges expand throughout the town, being the only transportation besides boat. Mist flows around you, no matter where you are in the beautiful town, St. Marks Square is filled with tons of tourists and pigeons that will snatch anything if you don’t watch out for them. Shops are on every sidewalk from “gelato” to clothing, and welcome you in with their exotic attractions. | Huge cathedrals are decorated to the extreme extent, and are very detailed. At night, the city is filled with lights, and the restaurants are even more alive, Statues of lions with wings, griffins, suddenly emerge and it seems like they are around every corner. This architectural city is a beautiful place and can bring pleasure to anyone who visits.
