S: Jaymee's Senior Book
FC: Senior 2011
Mom & Dad: I can't even begin to explain how much I love you two or how much I appreciate everything y'all have done for me. You two have taught me so much about life and how to do the right thing. You can trust that Ill be okay on my own. Mama, you give the best advice, and its clear I can come to you no matter what. You always help me out & let me know whats right, even when I don't want to hear it. I know our relationship is special and not many girls know how it feels to have their mom be their best friend. Daddy, you've always had a way of pushing me to do my best, and I don't think you ever really knew it. You've shown me that failure is okay as long as I get back up to try again, and its okay to laugh at myself when things don't go right. You always know how to make me feel better because you know just what to say to make me smile. You're the strongest man I know & you'll always be the #1 man in my heart. Don't worry mama, Ill be home all the time to let you do my laundry & fill you in on my life. And daddy, while mamas doing the laundry we can go hunting and fishing at granddads. This may be the end of high school & of this chapter of my life, but I know there is so much life ahead of me. Sometimes I have to step back and remember this isn't the end, but a new beginning. I hope the two of you remember this as well, and know I'm never going to be too old to be your baby girl. I love you both with all my heart. Your baby girl, Jaymee Nicole
Chapter 1: "Who Am I?" My name is Jaymee Nicole Schafer, and I've lived my entire life here in Canadian, TX. My future plans consist of attending college at WTAMU and becoming a neonatal nurse. I am staying on top of my school work, filling out scholarship applications, & doing what I can to reach my goals!
Chapter 2: "Before I Was, There Were..." Before I was here, I had a pretty large family waiting for me! My parents are Jay & Janice Schafer. They're my life! I have 2 half brothers, Matthew and Steven Forrest, & 1 half sister named Rebecca Vestre. I'm pretty unique because I have 3 sets of grandparents! My dad's parents are Jo & Kerry Westbook and Jerry & LaVerta Schafer. My mom's parents are Jim & Billie Lay. All of these people have made a huge impact on my life because without them, I obviously wouldn't be here!
Chapter 3: "Suddenly, I Became Me" * When I was tiny, my favorite place to sleep was my mama's chest! I could only fall asleep on my stomach laying on her chest. * The song "I'm a Fool For You" by Alan Jackson changed my life. The girl in the music video wore a white dress with red dots. Every time the video would come on CMT I would go to my room and change into my white dress with red polka dots! I would dance around in front of the TV and copy the girl in the video! * As a young girl, Logan & Jessica were my best friends! We always had fun, no matter what we did. Jessica's mom used to babysit full time so during nap time, we big girls got to go play outside. We would always go swim together or play "feed store" outside. * I used to have a clubhouse in my backyard. I swept the ground between our two sheds outside and made seats out of cinder blocks. I always wanted to take my supper out there to eat. I would invite my friends over to hang out in my super cool clubhouse!
Chapter 4: "School Bells" When I was in kindergarten learning how to spell, I spelled "nice" as "nis" because Mrs. Martin wouldn't tell me how to spell it. We used to have to read AR books to get into point clubs and get a balloon tied to a coke as a reward. If you came to school every day you got to be in the attendance parade. My favorite teacher was Mrs. Putnam because she let me sleep on beanbags during class when I didn't feel good..
 SCHOOL PICS!
Chapter 5: "More School Bells" Baker school was a blast because we were almost big kids. We got grades for coloring history pages in Mrs. Lee's class. Mrs. Cockrell taught us for two years straight. We got to go on a field trip every year to Wonderland..every time. We all got detention for forgetting our instruments in band. Then we got to middle school. We started participating in sports & we were finally becoming big kids! 8th grade was the best because we were top dogs of the middle school but about to be at the bottom of the totem pole again! Life was simple, life was great!
Chapter 6: "I Grew Up Here" I've lived in Canadian for all of my life. It's the best small town community you could find. I've lived in the same neighborhood since I was born. I love living in Canadian because everybody knows everybody, and everyone is supportive. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.
Chapter 7: "Hide & Seek" When I was little Jessica, Logan & I used to play "house". Jessica's mom used to babysit full time so we would pretend those kids were ours. We had a little play kitchen, and we would use the living room as our house. Sometimes our kitchen was a restaurant, and we would take orders and "cook". As with every little girl, we all had the dream of being cheerleaders! Every Friday we wore our cheer uniforms to school & games. We always had vast imaginations, and we were never bored!
Chapter 8: "My First Boyfriend" My first boyfriend was Ryan Alexander. We dated for a year in Baker School. He was madly in love with me but I wasn't so into it. We would hold hands under a blanket a football games, but that was as far as it was going. One day, he decided he wanted to kiss me so he asked if he could. I ended it immediately and scarred Ryan for life. Sorry, Ryan! I know you haven't been able to recover since that tragic day.
Chapter 9: "I Wish I Could See Anna Tepe Again" Anna & I are still friends, I just hardly ever get to see her anymore. She came to school here until 8th grade, now she goes to Cheyenne High School. I really miss hanging out with her, but I'm glad that we're still about to talk and keep in touch.
Chapter 10: "Middle School" Middle school wasn't all it cracked up to be. We weren't quite big kids, and everyone kept telling us life was so much better in high school! I played basketball and ran track. Mrs. Fulcher was our english teacher & she was extremely scary to most people. Joshua Brock was my crush, and he always found a way to break my heart. Then Parris moved to town, became my boyfriend, then he too broke my heart. Good thing I always had Jessica & Logan to stand by my side!
Chapter 11: "Let's Go to the Movies" When I was a little girl, I was all about "Barney". As I got older, I loved "Shrek". In middle school. I liked the movie "Sleepover". I could quote it easily! Now my favorite movie would have to be a tie between "No Strings Attached" or "Pirates of the Caribbean"
Chapter 12: "I'm Really in Love This Time, Mom" My first serious romance was and still is Parris Robinson. We met in the 8th grade and started dating our junior year. We've been dating for a year and a half now, and he makes me extremely happy. I love him <3
Chapter 13: "Let's Take a Vacation" Last spring break I went on a trip with the Robinson family to Colorado. We spend the week in Breckenridge and got to do all kinds of fun things. We shopped and rode snow mobiles. Even though I'm not a fan of cold weather, I had a great time with a great family!
Chapter 14: "High School: The Early Years" My freshmen, sophomore, and junior years were great. I remember coming to high school and being scared to death of upperclassmen. My sophomore year was really easy and worry-free. I got my license & got to drive the stang! My junior year was extremely stressful, and there wasn't a night I didn't have homework. But a plus was that I started dating Parris. Overall, I had a great high school experience filled with fun, homework & laughs!
Chapter 15: "At Last, I'm a Senior" My senior year has been nothing short of amazing. The highlight has been spending class time chatting with my friends! The trouble has been getting through anatomy & college government. I've been successful in most of my classes in getting all A's. My friends are the best, hands down. Mrs. Jones is my favorite teacher, no one could compare to her! My life is simply wonderful!
Epilogue: "If I could live my life all over again, I would..." Honestly I probably wouldn't change that much about my life or the decisions I've made. If I had to pick one thing, I'd probably work on my ability to think before I open my mouth. That skill could've changed a lot of bad situations I've gotten myself into. I also could've worked a little harder on treating everyone the way I would like to be treated. I tried to do that all the time, but like anyone else, I didn't always succeed. My life is incredible. I'm one very blessed girl. I have my family, my friends, & God to back me up. I wouldn't change how my life has unfolded so far, and I hope the future holds great things!
