FC: Life of a Star
Have you ever wondered where stars come from? Stars are born and die just like humans do!
All stars start out as a nebula. A nebula is a cloud of dust and gas.
When a nearby star explodes, it causes the nebula to collapse. It flattens into a disk and begins to spin.
A star forms at the center of this disk. It's a part of the main sequence.
A star spends most of its life in the main sequence. The more massive the star the shorter its lifespan in the main sequence.
When a main sequence star runs out of hydrogen in its core the center shrinks inward and the outer parts expand outward. It becomes a supergiant.
When a large star like a supergiant dies, it explodes in a supernova. The explosion is extremely powerful.
After a supernova explosion the leftovers collapse together and form a black hole. Its gravity is so strong that not even light can escape it.
This is a stars life when its All together. Do you remember what the order is for a stars life?
