FC: The Life Cycle of a Star BY Colyn Blackford & Kole Gross

1: Nebula - A large cloud of dust and gas in interstellar space. - The center of the nebula gets so hot and has so much mass that hydrogen fusion begins, there is so much pressure the gas stops collapsing and a star is born. | Stage 1

2: Main Sequence - A star that runs diagonally down the H-R Diagram - When the stars runs out of hydrogen in its core the inner part shrinks and the outer parts moves outwards to make a Super Giant | Stage 2

3: Super Giant -A star that has expanded from a main sequence. -Since the Super Giant is so big it burns up all of its hydrogen fast. Since it burns up a lot of hydrogen it has a lot of energy. It will explode making a Supernova. | Stage 3

4: Supernova -The death of a large star by explosion. -Sometimes the supernovas are so massive they collapse and make a black hole. | Stage 4

5: Black Hole -An object with more than 3 solar masses squeezed into a ball 10 kilometers across. -This is the last stage of a stars life. | Stage 5
