S: Reeder Family Vacation 2011
FC: Carnival Splendor February 20-27, 2011
We booked this cruise almost two years ago with my sister Lisa, her husband Steve and their kids Jesse and Kirsten. In November 2010 there was a fire on the ship and the ship required extensive repairs before it could sail again. We waited anxiously for any news on the ship, it didn't seem possible that the ship would be ready for us. We frantically searched for a plan "B" but nothing came together. Finally about 2 weeks before our sail date we found out everything was going to be alright.
Long Beach California Terminal Waiting to get on our ship, the moment we had all been waiting for
 Our Beautful Ship
Jack, Jesse and Kirsten showing off the beds in our Stateroom | The splendor is known as the "pink" ship.
Our cute towel animals we came back to every night | Only question was who was going to be the first to wreck it...?
Every night we ate dinner at the Gold Pearl Restaurant We also had the same waiter every night. His name was Dinesh, he was from Nepal. Unfortunately, we had to ask him if it was his first day on the job!
Since it was my birthday the day before the cruise, John Heald, the cruise director sent me a gift. | However, we did have to laugh at the trophy. Can you see what is wrong with it?
Our first formal night seemed like a great occasion to take off our jackets, pretend we weren't freezing and take some pictures on our balcony. We were able to open the partition between the two rooms and have one big balcony. It also allowed the kids to run back and forth slamming the door each time.
February 21, 2011 | Looking snazzy for dinner
 Jack + Kirsten = TROUBLE
Kids in the Hall | Getting the craziness out of the way before dinner. The hallway on our floor had some very interesting artwork.
Good food, good wine, good times! | It was always a really tough decision on what to order.
 Speaking of wine.....
Waterpark FUN | It was a little bit cold but the kids didn't mind. | Unfortunately, Noah was sick that day and missed the fun.
Welcome to Puerto Vallarta | Wednesday, February 23, 2011
We spent the day with my Mom, Dad, Aunt Adeline and Uncle Arthur at their Condo, we enjoyed a nice meal (or two) and some great Margaritas! We didn't want to leave. | It was the most wonderful day ever! | We even had the famous shrimp feast we had been hearing about for years.
The kids had a great time playing in the pool
Then we went for a walk on on the beautiful Puerto Vallarta beach
Noah and Jack had fun climbing on the statues on the Malacon
No trip to Puerto Vallarta would be complete without a trip to the Cheeky Monkey for $1 Margaritas....a big difference from the $10 ones on the Ship!
Cabo san Lucas February 24th and 25th We were supposed to go to Mazatlan but because of some violence, they would not let our ship dock. So, we spent two days in Cabo instead.
After the very long tendering process we took a glass bottom boat ride, played on the beach and had a very expensive little snack.
Hanging out on the Lido deck of our Ship
A nother picture on our very windy balcony | Adam and I at dinner | Lisa and Steve Our ever-smiling Jack | Our 2nd formal night
After the cruise we spent a day at Disneyland's California Adventure February 28, 2011
Unfortunately, we forgot to take many pictures. But we did have a great time on the Tower of Terror, California Screamin', the Grizzly River Run, Mickey's Fun Wheel and Soarin' over California. It was a nice day and the park was not very busy. A great way to end a vacation which involved waiting in many, many, many lines!
