S: Maturing in Christ

FC: Youth Bible Conference March 7-13 2011

We started for YBC on Sunday March the sixth at around 7:30 AM. We arrived at the Kellers around 6:00. On Monday morning YBC started. Everyone was supposed to be there by 8:15 for registration. The theme for the week was Maturing in Christ.

 Staff!

Leon Zook was the moderator. He kept everyone on their toes. | YBC wouldn't have been possible without the many willing people who took time off of work to help. From the janitors to the cooks, from the deans to the matrons. And many others. Everyone had a part to keep everything running smoothly.

We had some very good cooks at YBC. They had a lot going with close to 150 people to feed at lunch And more then that at supper.

Meals were always an enjoyable time of fellowship!

We had about 3 hours of Group Sessions each day. It was a time when we could go through our curriculum and discuss the morning message.

Our teachers throughout the week were Chris & Kathy Tice, Elvin & Rachel Martin, and Jewel Zook.

We had Chorus Practice every afternoon right after lunch. Randall Martin was our director. We sang 11 songs. One of my favorites was the song "A Bright New World".

 Chorus

"Good times are even better when they are shared" | "The friends we meet on the path of life make the trip worth while."

My dear friend Ellamae.! | Why aren't you looking at me, Dosei? | Bethany and Jennifer!

Jeffrey kept on top of the weather and news for everyone. Here Jeffrey, Doron, and David are listening to a news report on the Japan quake. | I made so many new friends at YBC. It was such a blessing to be with 130 Godly youth. We also had a very good time in the evenings at Kellers. Sitting around the living room, eating, singing, and discussing our day.

so many | We were so blessed to have such a great host family. Pete and Sherry provided breakfast each morning and snack each evening. Here we are all around the breakfast table.

The boys took turns having devotions every morning. Looks like it was Dorons turn this morning.

And then.......YBC was over. The recording was done, testimonies were shared, program was given. And we only had one more evening with our host family before heading home. So we made the most of it! We had pizza for supper, did some singing then headed out to the garage for a good game of Four Square! Afterwards we came in for more popcorn and GOOD fellowship! Us girls started relating some of the stuff shared throughout the week in group discussion and had the guys rolling on the floor in helpless laughter. But all good things must come to an end so about 1:00 us gals said goodby to the guys and headed downstairs to.........Well thats another story!! Keep reading!!

 Say Cheese!

Friends are Flowers that Never Fade

The continuation of Sunday night! Us girls decided that since the Cooper vanload was going to leave at 3:00 AM Monday morning what was the use of going to bed. So we decide to stay up till they left. So we ate snacks, gave each other back rubs, and talked. Isn't that what girls do best? Oh, and made the guys jealous. We did have pity on them and gave tham some snacks. Dosei gave Peter all the Nerds. Wonder why she picked on him! Can anyone guess? Oooh, the bed felt so good that morning at 4:30! Thus ended a great week at YBC! | Meredith and Charity were so evenly matched in arm wrestling. They spend close to 6 minutes on one arm. Needless to say they were pretty sore for awhile!

There were 5 of us girls in Merdiths' bedroom. Dosei Cooper, Jennifer Chapman, Meredith, Charity and I.

 Steak & Shake
