FC: The Gents October 2009 - May 2010
Our Deployment months oct - may
Before Daddy left we did as much together as a family as we could: fishing, camping, theme parks, picnics, and lots of time just together playing, reading, or cuddling.
Troy packing all his gear was a sad sight for me, a realization of how long he would be gone. Watching him with the girls I tried to etch him into memory.
We delayed "goodbye" as long as we could in the middle of the night. watching him load the bus and being separated by the glass was hard enough so the girls and I drove home, alone. | Lt. Kelly, Captain Benson, Lt Gent | Lt. Goof Ball and Lt. Ritter
Time goes by slowly while your waiting, But we kept our selfs as busy as possible. Playing with the Zufelt cousins in Palm Springs, Halloween with grandma and grandpa, Thanksgiving at the Billings and shopping. One paticular shopping day on the internet we bought a new puppy... so we kept busy with our little pet too.
Rebecca and Suzan | Emma and Copper
Christmas Recital 2009 I called it a "mini" recital and held it in the studio for parents only. That way it was not too stressful at Christmas while Troy was gone.
LOVE TO DANCE | Merry Christnas
District Govenor Asadula Khan and his son that lived with Troy in the police compound. | This was the police force Troy started with to train and mentor.
Lt. Gent | USMC | Troy looking 'good' on the latest cooler hummer at that time. The MRAP vehicle that they took on route clearing and patrolling. He loved his deployment and the excitement, fear, and experience that came with it.
 Beautiful Huricane, Utah
On our way to spend Christmas with garndma and grandpa Zufelt we stopped and played with about every relative in utah along the way. Here we are with the Pastor cousins climbing the rocks by their house, what a view.
CHURCH WITH GRANDPA 'BUCK' GENT | HOT COCO WITH AUNTIE RACHEL
PLAYING WITH COUSIN WILLIE, AUNT ECHO & WUANA AT THE INDOOR JUMPY HOUSES IN CEDAR CITY
Christmas 2009 | We stayed at "Greats" Levies house on Christmas Eve. Troy was able to call us for a mere 5 minutes that day. Oh how I missed spending the holiday with him, as a family. | LOVE what Christmas is about
The girls had a blast sledding and snow ball fighting with papa. We also got pulled in the tube behind the truck. | Mommy, | Rebecca, | Papa & | Emma
LT GENTS PLATOON | Top Row: Gent, Robinson, , Wilson, , Barbadillo, Alverado, Bottom: Chell, Collins, Moreno, Doc. | A little puppy his marines found and tried to keep | On top of the police compound where he lived
1- for peace 2- for family | Me and the girls and many other people wanted to send Troy and the Marines gifts at Christmas to show our love. He got boxes from us, my brothers work,my parents and grandparents church. Most of which he in return gave to the Afghan police and children who needed more and did not know what Christmas was, but he shared Gods love with them that day and many others. | He did keep the little Christmas Tree we sent him and the foods he loved best.
We had a fun time in new Mexico with great Knowltons. We did a lot of crafts and cooking and visiting.
 HAPPY NEW YEARS 2010
We sent Rebecca to public school for 3 months her 1st grade year. We learned alot, including California schools were not for us. We gladly we went back to homeschool
SCHOOL EVENTS | Rebeccas class went on a few feild trips in that shoirt time. One was to the Zoo in Palm Springs. Emma and I were able to tag a long. | Top Right: Homeschool science fair, Rebecca did a science prodgect on rocks. Bottom: awards at 29 Palms Elementary school.
Happy Valentines Day! Rachel came over and we took her to Palm Springs for the weekend. We stayed at the resort and even had a fancy valentines dinner, all 4 of us silly girls.
A day in patrolling Delaram Afghanastan. | Most service members do not feel like Heros or except the name but to us he was. A man sacrificing his life to serve another IS a hero.
A Marine and his GUNS | loved getting pictures through email now and again of my handsome Marine.
one thing that kept me busy was remodeling our home. I bought on a yard sale sight new couches, entertainment center, dinnig table and more! Boy did I have fun!
Daddy sent home flowers that we LOVED every day they reminded us of his love and gave us something to enjoy watching grow in the swelching dessert.
Happy Easter Easter was a heard day because it fell on Sunday and General Conference and we were all alone. Luckily a sweet samoan family in our ward invited us to an egg hunt on Saturday and Sunday our friends the Perrys invited us to dinner on Sunday. God blessed us with friends!
Spring Festival on base was full of games, face painting, cotton candy and marines. But not my marine. By this time I was beyond ready for Troy to return. Nothing really takes away missing your loved one, but being with wemon in the same boat REALLY helps. Gena Disny, a friend from Virginia came to visit when her husban deployed too.
The Best part about deployment is getting ready for him to come home. Making sighns, decorating the house and car, cleaning the house and car, finding the perfect out fit, and dreaming about being together again. But it is also the most stressful time too with so much anxiety over the reunion, uncertainty of when exactly it will be and how your loved one will be after you adjust back into life, together again.
One of our sighns we hung for daddy the night before!! We made another for the house. All night his time of arrival changed: 2 am, 4 am, 5 & 6 then finally..........
HE is HOME! | Always Faithful
I have only felt this way one other time in my life and that is when he returned from Japan. The feelings are un-explainable when you love and miss some one so much and then you see them again for the first time. Nothing else in the world matters and sheer delight takes over you. It is as close to a heavenly reunion as earth can get. I am ever greatful to my God for bringing our family safely back together again!
