FC: The Carr Family 2011
This is Our Happily Ever After.... | January 21, 2011
 Honeymoon | January 21 | Lexington VA | January 23-26 | Tree Top | Snugglers Cove | January 22
We spent our honeymoon at a cabin in the Smokey Mountains. We spent lazy days: sleeping in, seeing the sights, eating at Firehouse (everyday), enjoying the hot tub, watching it snow, hiding from owls, playing laser tag, shopping at the outlet stores, drinking hazelnut coffee and loving being married.
1st Day Home | Our first day home was after a 10 in. snow storm, so we had to trudge through snow to unload the trailer. When we finally had that accomplished then came the fun task of trying to make a bit of order out of the chaos. We managed to get the bed set up and boxes pushed aside temporarily. It was a strange feeling going to sleep in our "own" house that night!
We decided to open a few gifts that night, but once we started we were having to much fun to stop until they were all opened. To put it in David's words. "It was like a whole room full of Christmas."
Bruno | Bruno joined our family in April, we quickly fell in love with his big sad eyes and hyper personality.
What I love most about my home is who I share it with! | Our First House
Mudding, Off-Roading, Getting a little mud on the tires, call it what you like, this was a Sunday afternoon favorite. Grab some friends, snacks and a vehicle with four-wheel drive and you have your ticket to a fun afternoon.
 MUD | Friends | Sunshine
We said a bittersweet farewell to David's Chev 1500. It was his first truck and it served him well. The truck holds many fond memories for us. We got stuck in snow, hit trees and deer, and nearly careened off of cliffs. It was where we officially became "us" and the location of our first kiss and our ride on our honeymoon. | Living the newlywed dream. Eating Ramen noodles and watching the clothes wash. | Our cozy living room.
David turned 21 on April 1, so we went to Tennessee to be with family and celebrate! | In August we went to Summersville Lake for the annual Renick Millworks camp-out. We enjoyed Whitewater rafting on the New River one day. Sadly the weekend ended with a bang when David was involved in a Jet Ski accident. He ended up off work for a week while his ribs healed. | In March, Martha began working at The Cheese N More Store. She worked there part time and loved it. | David worked for Renick Millworks. His favorite part was when he got to do | pickup and delivery. This took him to 19 states in 2011!
July 9-12 we spent at Myrtle Beach, with Jay, Jolene and Riley. We had a wonderful relaxing time. In addition to burning to a crisp on the beach we ate at the Giant Crab Shack, attended Pirates Voyage, and shopped at the local shops!
Every love story is beautiful, but ours in my favorite | Together | is our favorite place to be!
The best thing in life to hold onto is \each other
The Whetzel family got together for the weekend at a cabin. The highlight of the weekend was Cass Railroad. Besides that we spent time talking, snuggling with the little people, going to the rock overlook, eating, and playing games. The lack of Internet and cell service didn't keep us from using electronics to stay entertained, thanks to tablets and laptops. The weekend ended much too soon but the memories will last forever.
Other things may change us, but we start and end with family. ~ Anthony Brandt
Cass Scenic Railroad October 15, 2011
Kate & Lisa | Crystal | Martha, Julia & Mari | Naomi | Martha hosted a gingerbread house making party. It was quite an experience, since it was everyone's first attempt. The process was long and we didn't finish until after 1 am. We had more candy then we knew what to do with and icing everywhere.
