FC: Barlow Family Fall 2010-Winter 2011
Family pictures with the Dover Family 2010
Lucy grew up so much this year. She is so fun and loves to play with her brother Gavin. She loves story books, playing with her doll house, jumping on the trampoline and going on adventures with her Dad
Gavin is our tender hearted boy who loves to please! He could play Legos every day and loves his free time; he is a great big brother.
In October Justin took the children to St. George with his family. Needing a little R&R I stayed home and had my own "stay-cation". One of the highlights was staying a day in Salt Lake City with my friend Shelby Castleton.
Welcome Fall! One beautiful October day I took the kids hiking up Fernwood with our friends the Stevens.
Happy Halloween! | Every Halloween we have a party at our house with the Dover family and carve pumpkins.
Gobble Gobble It's turkey time! | Before Thanksgiving break, Ellison Park Elementary had a "Thanksgiving feast" for the 1st graders and family was invited.
Thanksgiving day 2010. These are the only pictures we took. G&G Hyer with us in Logan. | The Barlow family is so large we meet at a church building. It is a lot of fun for the kids to run around and have space. The Adults love to play basketball and visit.
WINTER WONDERLAND We always start this season with much excitement and then drag through the cold months with anticipation of Spring. The kids love playing in the snow, Christmas time and all the delights of the season!
Holiday Fun We invited our cousins, the Gilberts, to dinner and to make gingerbread houses in December. Aunt Alicia brought so many goodies, yum! | Lucy never wanted to wear clothes...even in photos!
Christmas Eve Every Christmas Eve day we spend in Lewiston at the Barlow's; We have lunch and open presents with all the grandkids. Lucy got her beloved doll house and Gavin was given a hot wheels set. We always have so much fun watching all the kids holding their gifts trying to be patient for everyone to take their turn. Grandma makes them open them in order of age. After a few minutes it turns to complete joyful chaos as they tear into them. After presents we head back to Layton and this year we had a party at Dover's house and the kids acted out the Nativity.
 Away In a Manger...
 Christmas Fun!
Ringing in the New Year: 2011 We went on our (almost) annual vacation to California. We invited G&G Barlow to come along with us. We stayed in Oceanside, enjoyed the beach, took the kids to Sea World twice, Coronado Island, San Diego Temple and saw many fun sights while there for a week. The kids were really good on this vacation and discovered they love sharing a room. For the next six months they just HAD to have bunk beds together! One of the highlights was the street carnival at night in Oceanside. One of the not-s0-fun times was Justin getting a ticket in the exact same spot I did, one year earlier. Buckle up!
 Sea World
We went to Sea World two different days on our vacation and loved it. It wasn't crowded at all and we enjoyed everything in the park at a leisure pace.
The Beach we visited Coronado, Carlsbad and Oceanside beaches
 Lucy Anna turns 3
Lucy turned 3 on February 18th, 2011. We celebrated with the Barlow Grandparents visiting during the day and with the Dover family at night for Pizza and Cake. Lucy picked out her own presents from us: A white Sunday dress and "princess" backpack. From the Barlow's, a "Snow White" dress-up and from Dover's, a doll. | Lucy had a special smile that she was using on her birthday, we just love her cute personality!
Lucy's nursery teacher, Shawna Worthington, and her daughter came to bring Lucy a treat on her birthday (pictured left)
It snowed a lot after Christmas and it turned into the wettest Spring ever. Lots of fun inside and out!
Gavin and Lucy These two LOVE to be together and really get a long most of the time. Lucy often asks for Gavin while he is at school and Gavin loves to be at home with his sister. Although they are almost 4 years apart they are each other's best friend.
 Gavin Turns 7
Gavin began his birthday, riding his bike to school with his Dad. That evening we had a family party with a pirate themed cake that his Grandma Rhonda made.
St. George Utah After a few months of being sick with pregnancy we decided to head to an early Spring and get some badly needed sunshine. | We love staying in the Condo's and swimming at the pool. We also did a lot of shopping, relaxing and having dinner with out friends, the Jewkes.
The Spring and Summer of 2011 was busy. We found out that we were expecting our 2nd daughter and put our house up for sale, and then not. We went on vacations and spent time with Family and friends. Lucy, Gavin and I had a lot of fun hanging around the house and trying to stay dry in the Spring and cool in the Summer. Justin kept busy with work and play. It was a really a good time despite my never feeling very well and a lot of memorable times were had.
Pictures of our home as it was in the Spring of 2011. Upper Left: Master Bedroom. Right: Nursery (now office).
Pictures taken in Lewiston Utah in May at our Niece, Whitney Barlow's, Baptism. She is the first of seven grandchildren, including our Gavin, to be baptized all within a year.
Goofing off after church is common, having had to be good and quiet for three hours. This also includes Lucy getting out of her church clothes as soon as possible!
Summer Mash-up: 4th of July, Wolf Creek condo's, "Cousin's Camp", the Zoo and random pictures from Summer 2011.
Back to School Gavin started 2nd Grade at Ellison Park Elementary in Mrs. Madsen's class. Lucy started her first year in Preschool at "Miss Mary's Little Lamb" Preschool. Taught by our friend and neighbor Mary Jane Coombs.
Lucy's first day of preschool and her field trip to the State Fair with her Dad.
Welcome Fall 2011 Fall is one of our family's favorite seasons. The kids love Halloween, going back to school and the beautiful changes nature brings. We had a lot of fun helping (and watching) Justin take care of our garden. He did such a great job and we had our best harvest. Justin is holding our biggest watermelon ever! Everything really tasted great and we are still eating our squash four months later. We were really starting to get anxious for the birth of our baby girl in the coming month. Both Gavin and Lucy were so excited!
These lovely photos were taken hours before I checked into the Davis Hospital. We dropped off Gavin and Lucy at Grandma and Grandpa Dover's and went to bed excited as I have ever been. Our 3rd pregnancy definitely had it's challenges, but we were blessed by many friends and neighbors as well as family that helped us through the worst months of sickness. I got started about 7am on October 10th and I progressed slowly for a few hours until noon. Once I became dilated to a 6 it went very rapidly. I told my nurse that I go quickly and she called my Dr., Becky Vance. Before she arrived I was a 9 and was feeling the baby coming. Becky walked in just in time to help Julia Kay Barlow arrive. With one push she was born at 2:13p.m. on October 10th, 2011. She weighed 7lbs 12 oz and healthy.
 Julia Kay Barlow
first weeks home with the family
Halloween 2011 We always have a pumpkin carving party the day before Halloween, the kids love it.
Lucy and "yittle yam". Lucy loves preschool and was so excited when she got to bring home "Little Lamb". Each child gets a turn to bring the toy home to play and love for a weekend and then tell about their experiences in the class journal.
Julia's baby blessing dinner party at Dover's
Christmas Season 2011. We love December for all the fun parties and events. The annual Barlow cousin Nativity scene is a favorite.
Christmas Eve! Every year we drive to Lewiston and have a party with our Barlow family on Christmas Eve morning. This year, Justin took the kids sledding with their cousins and they had a blast.
Temple Square Every Christmas season we try and make it to see the lights on Temple square. This year the Dover grandparents joined us. We rode the train, had dinner and strolled through the square.
 Happy New Year! | 2012
