FC: The Best Egg Ever!

1: Not long ago, there was a mommy chicken who laid the prettiest brown egg ever. The mommy chicken did not know it, but that particular egg was a special egg. It was the best egg ever! After lots of warm love, the baby chick decided it was time to meet her mommy.. "Oh, what a wonderful day! I get to meet my mommy!" said the baby chick. The baby chick pecked and pecked until her pretty brown egg cracked. Quickly, she popped her head out of the tiny hole she had created and immediately saw the bright sunny day. Hours later, a little girl named Anna walked through the doors of the Main Street Feed Store in Grapevine., Texas. The baby chick and the little girl looked at one another and from that moment on it was love.. Love at first sight. A true love, a love between a girl and her pet chicken. A love that happens once in a lifetime. Anna named her baby chick Sunny Side-Up and called her Sunny for short,. Sunny quickly became a household pet. Friends and family came from near and far to visit Sunny and everyone fell in love with her. She was the best chicken ever! Sunny grew very fast. Each day she changed. She probably grew so fast because she had such a healthy appetite! She loved honey buns and had one for breakfast every morning. Some days she had a scrambled egg or some chicken nuggets. Other days she snacked on ribs, fresh corn on the cob, Cheese-its, Goldfish crackers, potato chips, Gatorade, coke, DrPepper, Popsicles, ants, termites, grub worms, earth worms, anything that tasted good. Sunny loved her food! Finally the day came for her to lay an egg. Anna kept tricking her mommy. Anna would come running into the house yelling, "Sunny laid an egg!" Anna's mommy would get all excited and run to see the egg.

2: only to find out there wasn't an egg. It was all a joke.. Then one day when it was least expected, Sunny laid not just one egg, but TWO eggs! The family was so proud and so excited! Sunny could now lay eggs! She laid the prettiest brown eggs you ever saw. Thanks to Sunny, Anna's mommy didn't have to buy eggs from the grocery store any more. Sunny was so proud of her eggs that when it was time to lay an egg she would announce to the world that it was egg laying time. She would start clucking and not stop until she had laid her egg. Sunny followed Anna around in the yard like a little puppy dog. They not only loved one another but they were also best friends. Anna took it upon herself to learn all about chickens. and how to care for them. She taught Sunny tricks and how to ride on the handlebars of her Razor scooter. Those two would scoot around the neighborhood and the neighbors would stand there and stare. They had never seen a chicken ride a scooter before! Summer and Fall came and went. When Old Man Winter arrived, Anna's family moved North Carolina. Of course it was a given that Sunny would move with the family, I mean who else would she live with? A local farm was out of the question because Sunny wasn't no stinking farm chicken, she was a pampered city chicken! When Sunny's family left Texas,, the family packed her belongings and made her a safe little nest in the back of their boat. Sunny rode in the back of the boat for 1,200 miles through the rain, sleet, snow, hills, valleys and mountains. and along the way she continued to lay her pretty brown eggs.. Sunny adjusted to her new home very quickly.. During the cold winter she had stayed in the shed with a night light and a heater to keep her warm. On warm winter days, she would play outside in the yard.. In the spring and summer, she slept outside in her condo and played in the yard chasing bugs and

3: eating. Sunny loved her new yard. She had 2 acres to run and play on. She and Anna's mommy became best friends.. They worked in the yard together, played together, and talked to one another. Where there was one, there was the other, that is until Anna got home. Once Anna got home from school it was the Anna and Sunny Show. Anna and Sunny's relationship blossomed. Sunny loved Anna and Anna loved Sunny, they loved each other unconditionally. Then one morning, Sunny went to heaven. The family did not get to say good bye to her. They were so, so sad. Sunny is now safe and out of harms way. Sunny is missed and she will always be in their hearts because she is and will always be "The Best Egg Ever!"
