2: Katniss' Favorite Things 1. Her sister Prim- In the first book of the series, she volunteers for Prim when she is drawn in the reaping for tributes for the hunger games. Her sister means more than her own life to her. 2. Her father's old hunting Jacket- Her father was killed in a mining accident and the jacket is one of the last things she has from him making it really important to her. 3. Hunting- Hunting is kind of her escape from reality with Gale. She feels lost and alone when she can no longer hunt in the woods. 4. Her pearl from Peeta- She receives the pearl at the end of her second games. It means a lot because at the end of the book he is captured by the capitol and that is one of the only things she has from him. 5. Gale- He is her best and only friend. They are hunting partners as well. He just makes her more unsure about her feelings. 6. Peeta- Her fellow victor and tribute and possibly her love interest. She feels confused though because of Gale, but she would die inside if she was to lose Peeta. 7.Her Bow and Arrows- She has fed her family for years with these. They also gave her an advantage in the arena, she had something to defend herself with unlike many other tributes.
4: If I was friends with Katniss we would probably hang out in the woods or hunt all day like she did with Gale before he went to work in the mines. We might even go swimming in the lake deep in the woods or just talk. Maybe we would also hang out with Prim after school or Gale on Sundays. Maybe we would hang out and climb in the trees too.
5: "Katniss, the girl who was on fire has left behind her flickering flames and bejeweled gowns and soft candle light frocks. She is as deadly as fire itself" -Katniss (pg. 207)
