FC: The Nicene Creed
Origins of the Nicene Creed The Nicene Creed was created at the First Ecumenical Council at Nicea in AD 325 to combat Arianism. It was expanded at the Second Ecumenical Council at Constantinople in AD 381 to balance its coverage of the Trinity by including the Holy Spirit. It is the only creed that was made by any of the seven ecumenical councils so it is the only creed that is truly ecumenical and universal. In the Orthodox Church, it is the only creed. The Nicene Creed is a symbol of belief for Christians in all regions and most denominations.
I believe in one God, the reason we are all here today. He made everything in our world He created things that we can see like animals and humans and everything we can’t see like love.
I believe in on Lord Jesus Christ, He was the one person chosen by God to come down and spread the good news. He was put on this earth many years ago. Jesus is a part of God. God sent Jesus down for us and to teach us. The holy spirit gifted Mother Mary, and through her Jesus was born.
Pontius Pilate nailed him to the cross. He suffered and was buried. As the bible said, he rose from death. He went up to heaven. He will always be with the Father. He is always here for us, And his gift will never end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the reason we are alive The Holy Spirit is a part of the father and the Son. The Holy Spirit spoke through the prophets.
I believe in one united Church. As Catholics we were baptised once and now we are free of sins. I live life to the fullest. And I appreciate the life I Have and will live. Amen
