FC: The Story of Moses

Not long before Moses time, there were many baby boys being born and were getting stronger, the Pharaoh of Egypt was frightened that when they grew up they would side with their enemies and invade Egypt. So the Pharaoh ordered every new born boy to be killed by throwing them in the river. When Moses was was born his mother hid him for three months but he became to big to hide. So she made a small water proof basket to put Moses in and sailed him down the the Nile. It just so happened that the Princess (pharaoh’s daughter), Bithya, was down by the river bathing with her maids. She heard the wailing of a small child coming from a basket, so she sent one of her maids to fetch the basket. The Princess decided to call him Moses, meaning to draw out, because she drew him out of the water. Moses’s sister, Miriam, had been watching the whole thing and she went up to the princess and suggested to get a Israelite nurse to look after him. The princess agreed. Moses’s sister went and got Moses’s and her mother, Jochebed, to be his nurse. For years, Moses was nursed by his own mother. Moses always knew he was a child from Israelite.

One day, Moses saw an Egyptian fiercely beating an Israelite slave. He looked around to see that nobody was watching and then killed the Egyptian and buried his body in the sand.

Not according to Moses's plan someone saw him and the word spread eventually reaching the Pharaoh's ears, and Moses knew that his life was in danger. So he left Egypt for the land Midian.

Moses sat down to rest near a well. Seven daughters of Jethro, a priest in Midian, came to draw water from the well. But some local shepherds shooed them away. Moses drives the men away, and then helpped them fill their jars. When they told their father what had happened, Jethro was so grateful that he gave Moses his daughter Zipporah's hand in marriage.

One day while tending Jethro's sheep, he led them far into the desert, to the holy mountain of Sinai. The flock were quietly grazing when suddenly the Lord appeared, from the middle of a burning bush. When Moses looked into the burning bush he saw that the tree was not being destroyed by the flames. Then he heard the voice of God, "Moses do not come any nearer for you are standing on holy ground." He put his hands over his eyes for he was afraid to look at God. "I have seen how my people are suffering in Egypt, where they are treated as slaves, I will free them from that cruel country and give them a promised land of their own, a land flowing with milk and honey. You, Moses, must go and bring my people out of Egypt." Moses was confused on how he would do this. The lord answered his thoughts, "I will be with you, you must tell the Israelites that I am the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham and Isaac, they will follow you. Tell them that God, whose name is 'I AM' has sent you. You must go to the Pharaoh and ask him in my name to release the Israelites. He will be angry and refuse your request. But I will curse Egypt and cause such horrors to fall upon the land that Pharaoh will no longer defy me, and he will let you and your people go."

God made the 10 Plagues to show the Egyptian Pharaoh that he would do anything to make him let Moses' people go.

Eventually the Pharaoh lets Moses' people go. But not long after he let them got, he decided to go after them. Moses cleared a path through the Red sea for him and his people. But the path collapsed before the Egyptians could make it to the other end.

Moses' family tree is very complicated. He had a couple of wives, with one named Zipporah, he had 4 sons.
