First, they visited some family along with many Weinachtsmarkts in Krumhermersdorf and the surrounding area. Then they went to Berlin to see how the big city decorated for the holidays.

Dec 2 - Roland picked all of us up and took us to Seiffen. Seiffen is well known for its wood carved Christmas traditions. We all got into his van and went for a long day trip. He also took to a shop where they actually make some of the handicrafts. Here, we got to watch a man make some of the wooden trees! It was very interesting.

We stopped at a few "wood shops" along the way. This was a life-size Raucher Menschen!

Another stop along the way! This is where we watched a man make the trees above. He made it look very easy! Here is where Jo bought the Adventskranz.

We finally made it to Seiffen. We walked around for quite a while, and then it started to SNOW! After our stop here Roland gave us a driving tour of the surrounding area before heading home.

Dec 3 - Wienachtsmarkt in Chemnitz.

Dec 4 - Visiting Ilse and Manfred in Zschopau | Sylvia, Jenn and Jo in the backseat

 Krumherm-ersdorf Kirche

Today is our last day in Krumhermsdorf. It was very sad to leave, but we had to move on. Rolf picked us up and we headed to Berlin.

Dec6 - Today Sylvia went to visit Ruth Weidner and Jo, Rolf and Jenn went to Berlin. They spent a lot of time looking at expensive cars and taking in the sites.

Brandenberg tor decorated for Christmas. Unter den Linden, Ice sculpture for Knut, Weinachtsmakt in Berlin with Berliner dom and Fernseher turm behind.

Dec 8 - Stopped by Die Himmels Pagoda, where Jo and Sylvia had previously eaten dinner before making our way to visit Marlitt, Ann-Kristin, and Lisa-Marie.

This was the hardest part of our trip. We will never forget you and you will always be in our thoughts and hearts. Ruhe in Frieden

Dec 9 - Went to another Weinachtsmarkt in Berlin. We also stopped into a few stores that had very cute displays of all the carved wood Raucher Menschen and Nutcrakers. > It was unreal to see this out door market and then pieces of history in the background!

A beautifully decorated Christmas tree in a store. | Interesting art work with some history.

Dec 10 - Our last night in Germany. We spent it with good friends sipping liquors. Our wonderful hosts.< Rolf & Renate

This is what we drove around Berlin in. Rolf's brand new VW Tiguan. We had a great trip, wished we could have stayed longer, but it was time to go home. It was amazing to see Germany decorated for the Holidays!
