S: Fire Safety
1: Fires can happen anywhere and at anytime.
2: Safety Tips | 1. Make sure that there are working smoke alarms in the house. 2. Test the smoke alarm at least once a month to make sure it is working. 3. Make sure there is a working fire extinguisher in the house. Preferably in the kitchen, garage and basement. 4. Keep a working flashlight by your bed to use if there is a fire at night. 5. Know several escapes and practice them. 6. Have a place outside a safe distance from the house for everyone to meet. 7.Never go back in the house.
4: Prevention | 1. Never play with matches. If you find them give them to an adult. 2. Never plug in too many things into one outlet. 3. Never leave a stove or fire unattended.
6: If you are caught in a fire: | 1. Stay calm 2. Use an escape route that you had learned. 3. Touch any closed doors before opening them. If they are hot do not open them. Find another way. 4. If there is smoke; crawl low to the ground under the smoke. 5. Once you get out go to your meeting spot. Do not go back into the house.
