4: Spanish American War The Spanish American war made the U.S. a great power. The war also revealed the medias power on the public. It also made way fro international relationships for the U.S. Panama Canal The Panama Canal shortened the distance between the East Coast and the United States and the markets in the west. It also helped the economic development of the nations on the other side. Open Door Policy The open door policy let multiple countries in one place at one time. Boxer Rebellion The Boxer Rebellion brought China to a higher position not quite as weak in Europe's eyes as the country used to be.
6: Taft VS Roosevelt President Taft was more into the expansion of foreign trade than Roosevelt. He pursued a program, known as "dollar diplomacy which was designed to encourage U.S. investments in South and Central American, the Caribbean, and the Far East. President Roosevelt was much more conservative that Taft. He liked the Good Neighbor Policy which was basically saying it wanted a good relationship with the countries of Latin America.
7: Imperialism I think imperialism can be a good thing or a bad thing. You should be able to take care of your own county before you invade another. You shouldn't try to take over another country either unless you are certain you have more power than that country.
