FC: Cells Mixbook

Cell theory- a basic tenet of modern biology first stated by Matthias scleiden and Theodor schwan in 1834-1839 that cell are the basic unit of structure and function in living organisms. All living things are made from cells. And all cells are made from pre-existing cells . .

Prokaryotic vs Eukaryotic | Prokaryotic- any cellular organism that has no nuclear membrane.

Eukaryotic- Is an organism whose cells contain complex structures enclosed within membranes. | Prokaryotic vs Eukaryotic

Plant vs animal cell | Animal-cells that are enclosed by a plasma membrane and containing a nucleus and organelles. they don't have a cell wall.

Plant vs animal cell | plant cell- Plant cells are eukaryotic cells that differ in several key respects from the cells of other eukaryotic organisms.Plant cells have a chloroplast, cell wall and a center vacule.the animal cell does not.

10 cell structures | Flagella many prokaryotes have flagella which are long thread like structures that protrude from the cells surface and enable movement.

10 cell structures | Ribosome Ribosomes are the cellular structure on which proteins are made.they can be floating in the Cytoplasm or rough ER.

10 cell structures | Central vacuole When the central vacuole is full it makes the cell ridged. It stores water and may contain many substances including ions, nutrients, and waste. It takes up a large part of the plant cell

10 cell structures | Golgi Apparatus the golgi apparatus is set of flat ended membrane bound sacs. They serve as the packaging and distribution center of the cell.

10 cell structures | Chloroplast organelles that use light energy to make carbohydrates from carbon dioxide and water.

10 cell structures | Nucleus the nucleus is in the center of the eukaryotic cell. the nucleus acts like the brain in the cell and contains the DNA.

10 cell structures | Lysosomes contains the cells digestive enzymes. it breaks down waste materials and cellular debris.found in animal cells

10 cell structures | Cell wall this orgellelle is called cell wall which is the structure of the cell and also provides support

10 cell structures | Rough ER the function of the rough ER is it helps transport the protein.

10 cell structures | Mitocondria the function of this organelle is it harvest energy currency of the cell. it contains nucleic acid.

It is a thin layer that goes around the surface of a cell. it provides and helps protect the cell | Cell membrence

Homeostasis | is the property of a system that regulates its internal environment and tends to maintain a stable, constant condition of properties like temperature or pH
