FC: Christmas at Nana's
1: 1988 | 1988 brings the first Christmas with grandchildren! Andrew Daniel Waak was born May 8th followed by Gregory Mark Schrimpf on October 1st. | First family Christmas picture with grandchildren. Of course we didn't manage to get everyone to look at the camera (Andrew).
2: 1989 | With two grandchildren over a year old now, Christmas becomes more exciting and more hectic.
3: 1990 | 1990 brings two more grandchildren to the pack. Mark Patrick Schrimpf was born on July 28th and Matthew Philip Waak on October 16th. Christmas getting crazier!
4: 1991 | With four little boys all walking now, it's everyone's job to keep track of them all. Just keeps getting crazier!
5: 1992 | 1992 brings the first granddaughter, Nicole Marie Schrimpf, born August 18th. She will need to be tough to keep up with all the boys!
6: 1993 | 1993 brings one more to the family, Lucas Michael Waak, born September 16th. Getting crowded around the tree!
7: 1994 | Growing fast, Andrew and Greg are already in school with the other four to follow soon. Christmas is a wild time at Nana's house.
8: 1995 | Christmas is busier than ever, with all six grandkids opening presents and wanting to try everything out.
9: 1996 | 1996 must have been an especially hectic Christmas - we even forgot to take a group picture!
10: 1997 | By 1997, five of the six grandchildren are school age now. Time really flies and they are all growing up so fast.
11: 1998 | All six are in school now and keeping everyone busy. Christmas is so much fun for everyone.
12: 1999 | 1999 and everyone is sharing their new Christmas presents. Even the boys try out Nicole's new dress-up set!
13: 2000 | Christmas 2000 is just as busier as ever - even Greg needed a nap after all the activities.
14: 2001 | By 2001, there are now two teenagers and they're not too interested in having their pictures taken anymore. We were lucky to get one group shot!
15: 2002 | Christmas 2002 and Andrew is now at Roncalli High School and the others are in 8th, 7th, 6th, 5th, and 3rd grades. They are growing up too fast.
16: 2003 | Two oldest are in high school now and everyone is busy with sports, music, rifle, dance, etc. Just happy to be able to get together for the holidays.
17: 2004 | Down to 8 at Christmas now. The Waaks are having their own Christmas celebration this year.
18: 2005 | Greg and Mark are both in high school now and Nicole is in 8th grade and they're all taller than Nana now! It's a sad Christmas for Greg having broken his hand playing basketball.
19: 2006 | Christmas 2006 is Nicole's first year and Greg's last year of high school. Off to college next year. Time flies!
20: 2007 | Christmas 2007 and Greg is now at UW-Oshkosh majoring in business and playing college basketball. Mark is a senior and Nicole a sophomore and both are busy with basketball, tennis, softball, and of course school work.
21: 2008 | Mark is now at UW-Madison studying chemical engineering and enjoying being a Badger fan. Hard to believe they have all grown up so fast.
22: 2009 | Nicole will be graduating this year and off to join Mark at UW-Madison to study zoology. We are just happy and blessed to be able to get together for Christmas.
23: 2010 | All three off at college this year but at least made it home for Christmas. It's getting harder to get everyone together.
24: 2011 | Christmas 2011 and soon Greg will be graduating from college and started his first job. Mark and Nicole will soon follow. But Christmas at Nana's will always be special no matter what ages we are.
25: 2012 | Greg started his first job and is living in Madison. Mark will be graduating from UW-Madison in spring and Nicole is a junior there. But thankfully everyone still makes it home for Christmas.
26: 2013 | Christmas 2011 and soon Greg will be graduating from college and started his first job. Mark and Nicole will soon follow. But Christmas at Nana's will always be special no matter what ages we are.
27: 2012 - ?? | The best gifts in life will never be found under a Christmas tree, those gifts are family, friends, children and the ones you love.
