S: Our 1st Anniversary March 2012
BC: No one needs a vacation so much as the person who has just had one
FC: Our 1st Anniversary | March 10-14
David and I celebrated our Anniversary on March 10th because the 11th was on a Sunday. It started by David studying in the morning while I had dance from 9-12. When I got home we had a light lunch and opened our presents. After, I started to get ready for the night. While I was getting ready the doorbell rang, David asked if I would get it, so I ran downstairs. When I opened the door there was such a pretty bouquet of flowers waiting for me! It was so cute! We left our house at about 3:30 to head to SLC. On our way to my surprise date we decided to stop at T.G.I.Fridays for dinner. David had never been there, and I have always loved it! I had the Jack Daniel Chicken Strips, and David had a Turkey Burger. It was so yummy. After we got done eating we kept heading further into SLC. I was driving and I was getting so excited to know where we were going, but David wouldn't tell me! | To: David | To:Cortny
He finally told me where we were going! To "Disney on Ice." I was so excited! Neither of us had ever been to something like that before. They did the movie "Toy Story 3," which is such a cute movie! We both were so impressed with how well the show was, and we had so much fun! When we got home we decided to have the last piece of our wedding cake. We unwrapped it and it smelled horrible! We had problems with our freezer in our old apartment, and we think that it went moldy! We both tried the tiniest piece but it tasted almost as bad as it smelled! We had to throw out the rest, which was sad because we were so excited to eat it!
We woke up on March 11th and had to hurry and pack! We went to Sacrament meeting from 11:00-12:15. When we got home we hurried and changed our clothes and grabbed a bite to eat! We left our house at about 12:55. We must of been a little to excited to get to Vegas, because we barely got to Nephi, when we saw the Red and Blue lights shinning and the siren going behind us! It was quite funny because when the cop came up to our window he said he had been following us for about a mile with his lights on and he finally had to put on his siren to get our attention! We knew right then that we were not getting out of this ticket. About 20 minutes later and a $90.00 ticket we were off again to Las Vegas! We made our first stop for gas about an hour later, and we saw this little Shetland horse, and a tiny Zebra! I was so excited and had to get a picture of them! We then drove for quite awhile before making our second stop. I traded David, and decided I would drive! We were making such good time, and we were about 20 minutes away from Las Vegas at about 5:20, when we hit a huge traffic jam! It was the worst! We were not moving at all, and we could see cars piled up forever! about 30 minutes into the traffic jam we could see the strip finally, but we still weren't moving more then 5 MPH! After about another 20 minutes David and I switched drivers again, because I didn't want to drive once we got off the freeway. We finally got moving again, and arrived at our hotel at 6:31! We got settled into our room and waited for Brandon to get back from picking up Trevor from the airport. We all went to dinner that night at the hotel. We ate at T.G.I. Fridays! It was so good. We then just went back to the room to go to bed!
The next morning we got up around 8:00 A.M. to get ready! We all went down for breakfast at the buffet at the hotel! It was really nice and it was only $6.00 a person (this was David's favorite part of the whole trip!). We then left David at the hotel to study and the rest of us | went to the Outdoor Outlet mall! It was a pretty nice day outside and Peyton did really good for most of it! She got a little fussy towards the end (she had a little cold the whole time we were in Vegas). After shopping we stopped for lunch at Cane's. It was really yummy. They only serve chicken strips! We then headed back to the hotel. David was done studying for the day when we got back, and he was still full from breakfast that he didn't want to get anything for lunch. So we just visited and rested our feet for an hour or so, then we started to get ready for the night. We went back to T.G.I.Fridays that night to eat because everyone liked it so much! So David and I ended up going there 3 nights in a row! After dinner we left to go to our shows!
We all couldn't go to the same show because Peyton couldn't go into the shows, so David and I went to the early showing of the Beatles "Love," while my mom and Trevor watched Peyton. Lexi and Brandon went to "Le Reve," at the same time. Then when both our shows got out we watched the baby while My mom and Trevor went to the later showing of the Beatles "Love." David and I had such a fun time at "Love." We sat pretty close to the stage and we both were amazed at how wonderful the show was!
Gold & Silver Pawn Shop | On Tuesday morning we got up around 8:00 again. We went to the same place for breakfast. After, David and I decided to go to the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop from the T.V.Show "Pawn Stars," while everyone else went to the mall. When we got there, there was a huge line outside the door, we decided to wait because it seemed to be moving pretty fast. There was about 8 people a head of us when an announcement came on saying that in about 15 minutes the shop was going to close for filming and it would take about an hour. We were so bummed because we didn't want to wait an hour to go in. The kept letting people go in, so we decided to wait and see if we would get in before they started filming. Luckily we did get in, | but we only had a few minutes to look around. While we were looking, a guy asked a few girls next to us if they would want to stay and be extras while they were filming! I looked up and said | I would love to do that! The lady behind the counter heard me and told us to wait just a minute. She came back and said we could stay and be extras also! We were so excited. They closed the shop and told us that we just needed to look around like we were doing before and not to look at the actors. It was so fun! We were there for about an hour and then as soon as they were done filming, Rick (one of the main characters from the show) just left without saying anything. I was a little bummed that we couldn't get a picture or anything of him, but we still had fun. After we met up with everyone at the mall and told them all about it!
 At the Mall
 At Binion's on Fremont Street
After we left the mall we went to Fremont Street, which is the Old Strip. There wasn't to much to do. We walked around a few of the shops, went to lunch at McDonald's, and Trevor, Lexi, and Brandon did a Zipline. The baby started getting fussy and tired so we decided to go back to the room and have a little rest before we went out that night.
Our last night in vegas we went to eat at the Harley Davidson Café! It is one of David and my favorite places to eat! After we all took pictures on the motorcycles!
After dinner we decided to walk around the strip, since we had not even been on it yet! We went to the Coke Factory, the M&M store, and walked around a few of the hotels. After awhile we decided to go back to our hotel. David and I went to bed early because we had to get up early the next morning to head home! | David thought that my tummy looked like the Yellow M&M's tummy. I can't disagree too much, I was one week shy of being six months pregnant!
On Wednesday the 14th, David and I got up early (7:00 A.M.) and got our things packed up to go. We ate breakfast for the last time at the Yummy Buffet and then we were on the road | for home. After filling up with gas we didn't get on the freeway until about 9:30. David drove first, and we | didn't stop until St. George. Then I drove from St. George until home. When we got to about | Fillmore I noticed we were getting really low on gas! I didn't want to wake up David, so I decided not to stop. Really soon after that | the gas light came on, at first I didn't think this was a big deal, because I thought there would be another place to stop, but was I wrong! There was not a gas station until Nephi! We had to drive for over 20 minutes with the light on. We were laughing so hard, and I was so scared because my family had just barely left Las Vegas so they wouldn't be able to save us for another 5 or so hours, and I had to get to dance that night by 5:30. We finally reached Nephi, and we were able to pull into the nearest gas station! We filled up and were back on the road again for home. We made it home shortly after! It was such a fun trip, but we were glad to be home!
