1: Every country is different, and have different ways of doing activities, such as vacation, shopping, food, holidays, health, communication methods, hobbies and interests.
2: Vacation Activities | American: | German: | We as Americans tend to go to resorts, beaches, amusement parks for vacations. | German have a tendency to go to camping grounds
3: Shopping | American: | German: | In our culture, shopping is done seperate. Food, clothes, car items, etc. | Everything is done at one place called the Kaufhaus.
4: Food | American: | German: | We eat different foods from different countries. But, also we eat lots of meats and seafood. | Sausage is a major course, also spices are very common with there foods.
5: Holiday | American: | German: | Also, New Years, valentines , Oktoberfest, Halloween, Thanksgiving (know as Erntedankfest) Christmas. | We celebrate New Years, Valentines, St Patrick's, 4th of July, Labor day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
6: Health | American: | German: | American has a high obesity rate. Health care now provide to everyone. | Measles are common in Germany. The typical diet is heavy stratchy and include meat. | In German lunch is more important that dinner.
7: Communication Methods | American: | German: | Americans in general always have cellular device | Post offices are in both cultures. Internet in both countries. Eye contact is preferred. (verbal) The "little " is used for pointing at objects. | American teenagers have there phone. | Texting is very common among younger people. | Dating sites are used to meeting over the Internet.
8: Hobbies and Interest | American: | German: | Most American have the hobby of Football or Baseball, it is one of Americas past time. | Also, fishing and hunting is a common hobby. | Mostly everyone has an interest in going to the beach. | In German soccer is a major hobby everyone follows. whether its watching or playing.
10: Family | American: | German: | In an typical American family there is about 1-4 kids on average in a household. Most Families live in the rural areas. Single people tend to live in the cities or apartments. | A German Family is made up around 2 childern. Also the families tend to live in the rural areas.
11: Driving | American: | German: | In the US one is able to obtain a drivers license at the age of 16, or wait until your turn 18. | We drive on the right side and drivers seat is located on the left side. | Our major car companies are Ford, Dodge, Chevy, | In German one is only able to have a drivers license at the age of 18. | Also drive on the right side of the road. Driver seat can be located on the right or left. | Major car companies are BMW, Audi, Porsche, and Mercedes
