FC: Colorado October 2010 and March 2011
1: We went to Denver in October 2010 to visit the Rocky Mountains National Park, hike, and see some autumn leaves. The scenery and weather were beautiful and we had a great time! We went on a beer tour in Denver, took tours of the Coors brewery in Golden and the Celestial Seasonings factory in Boulder. We went to the Blackhawk casino and explored Estes Park and Denver. In January of 2011, Jenni and Joe moved to Denver to see if they liked Colorado. We went to visit them in March. We went to the Red Rock Amphitheater, The Blackhawk casino (again!), The Denver Zoo, Gold Mine tour and the Rocky Mountain National Park. The Park looked completely different covered with snow and we went snowshoeing for the first time!
3: In Denver, we did a little sightseeing and a fun beer tour.
5: On the way to Estes Park, we visited the Celestial seasonings tea factory near Boulder. On the tour, they tell how the company started, how teas are grown and harvested and you walk through the factory where the tea is made and packaged. Afterwards, you can sample tea and shop in the gift shop.I enjoyed the tour but wish I had taken a picture of Bob wearing the beard cover!
7: This is Rocky the Chipmunk | We adopted Rocky in Rocky Mountain National Park. He is a great little hiking companion. | impostors

12: Casa Bonita | Jenni and Joe took us to Casa Bonita , the restaurant so famous there is a South Park episode about it! Cliff divers, a pirate cave, gunfights and Mariachis....what more could you want in a Mexican restaurant?
15: Mount Falcon Park
17: Red RocksAmpitheater is about 15 miles west of Denver. It is supposed to have almost perfect acoustics. Over the years, some of the biggest bands have played here. They include the Beatles, U2, The Grateful Dead and many more. People also go to the amphitheater they run up and down the steps; no thanks! | Red Rocks Ampitheatre

26: We stayed at Creekside Condos just a few miles outside Estes Park. It had 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a full kitchen,. The office had DVDs and games you could borrow and they even gave us vouchers for free snowshoe rentals. None of us had been snowshoeing before, so we decided to give it a try.

31: We went on a history and ghost tour at the Stanley Hotel. It was built in 1911 by the person who invented the Stanley Steamer car. The place is so creepy, Stephen King was inspired to write "The Shining"after staying here. The TV mini series of" the Shining" was filmed here as were parts of "Dumb and Dumber". We watched Dumb and Dumber at our condo to see if we recognized any of the places in the hotel .
