3: " DorothyRoberts, Grandma, Me-Me, Mom, Dorothy 1, however called by you, lived a very long and extraordinary life. She was born in 1902, in Austin,Pa.She moved to this area with her parents at the age of 2. In 1910, she clearly saw Halley's Comet in the clear morning sky in the east. She attended the one room school house at Bidwell Hill which took her to the 8th grade. She finished her schooling in Philadelphia and worked at General Accident Insurance Company for a total of 19 years. She had a daughter, 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. 5: Jesse Guiles Lyman | Carrie Ellen Everett Married 17 Apr 1890 | Her Parents:
6: Jesse and Carrie moved to Austin, Pa., where they started their family.
7: Their first-born Elvira Lyman was born 28 Mar 1893,and died as an infant. Wndelll Given Lyman was born 6 Apr 1895. Their 3rd child Dorothy Mae Lyman was born July 29, 1902.
8: Jesse was a photographer. and so we are blessed to have many pictures of Dorothy

10: Dorothy received her middle name from a friend of Jesse and Carrie, Mae Austin.
11: Itha Frankenfield was Carrie Lyman's foster sister. Itha had 3 daughters, Marion, Elsie and Irene. Dorothy maintained close contact with her cousin's. Elsie latr married a HoraceBonsall. Aunt Elsie would visit Bidwell Hill many times . She and Dorothy loved playing Canasta and Pinochle.

43: Carl and Dorothy bought a place in Croydon Manor With the help of Jesse Lyman, a home was built along the Neshaminy Creek.They lived in a small trailer, until the garage was built. Then they lived in the garage until the house was built.Carl adorned the house lilies, irises and roses.
45: Dorothy and Carl's only child was born March 27, 1929. They named her Dorothy Lyman Wilke.
