BC: THE END! | "There are worse crimes than burning books. One of them is not reading them."-Ray Bradbury
FC: Fahrenheit 451 | By: Lydia Lorenzo
This scrap book is dedicated to Guy Montag during his life as a fireman until his very death.
When Montag first started out he LOVED to burn. That was part of his job. He would burn anything that you could read and houses that he knew had that type of material! He mostly burned at night.
Everything changed when he met Clarisse after he came back from work one night. He found out that they were neighbors which made him happy. She kept asking him questions though, causing him to get mad, happy, and also question himself. The last question that she asked that night was if he was happy.
After Montag's meeting with Clarisse he went inside his house. The bad thing was that he found out his wife Mildred took a whole bottle of sleeping pills! He was shocked and called 911. | Mildred asleep after taking a whole bottle of sleeping pills.
After that incident he started asking himself, "why would Mildred do that?" | A couple weeks later he found out that Clarisse had disappeared! Mildred told him Clarisse got hit by a car 4 days after she knew. That crushed him. | A picture Montag can remember of Clarisse.
Soon after that he went to work and they were called to burn a ladies house. | They kept trying to get her out of her house so they could burn it but she wanted to burn her house instead, and she did. | Before he left he grabbed a book without anyone noticing. But after that he felt really guilty about the lady.
A couple days later he showed Mildred he had books! She was completely shocked! | Then he read some books to her like they weren't illegal!
Montag didn't understand most of what the books said sooo...... | After a long discussion with Faber, they decided that they were going to get enough copies of books, put them in firemen's houses, turn in an alarm, and watch the houses burn until there are no more to burn. | Since Montag didn't understand a book (which was the Bible) he decided to go ask Faber for help. When he got to his house though, he had to convince Faber he needed help instead of trying to arrest him. | He went into his memories and remembered a man named Faber he once met at the park. At the park he found out that he was a retired English teacher.
The person on that street was Montag himself! | When Montag went back home he found Mildred"s friends there. He started talking to them and also read them a poem! | The next day he went to work and they got a call. The call was for someone on Montag's street! | They were really sad and mad at him and said they were never coming back.
Montag was forced to burn his own house and while he did he enjoyed it. Beatty also found the ear piece Faber gave him and said he was going to trace it and put him and Montag in Jail. After that was said Montag burned him and knocked out his friends. | When they reached Montag's house Mildred came running out saying she called him in. Her friends already did earlier. | Soon after that, 2 Mechanical Hounds attacked him, and he got hit by a car and almost another one!
Montag then went to Faber's and gave him special instructions on how to get rid of his scent so the Mechanical Hound won't find him. He also asked for some clothes and a whiskey so he can get a different scent for a little bit. | Faber then gave Montag instructions to follow the river, then he should find the railroad tracks, and then he should finally find the "walking camps". The walking camps were people who did illegal things and are on the run. (They read books).
Montag followed Faber's instructions and followed the river but before he got into the river he poured whiskey on himself and then changed into Faber's clothes so the hound wouldn't be able to track him so fast. Then soon after that he finally stepped on the railroad tracks. | Then they showed him what happens when the government looses track of their victim. They find an innocent person and pretend he/she is their victim. In this case its a man. | Then they heard the war planes and a big exploding sound! They walked to the sound and saw that the city had finally been bombed! | He then followed the train tracks and found a group of men that had long beards and were remarkably clean. The men sensed he was there and told him to come out, so he did and he introduced himself but they already knew who it was. They told him who they were and told him what they did to be on the run.
When they went to the city they found the remaining survivors. Soon after that, they started to build houses, grow food, and write and read books! They also started a new government. Some of the laws were; school was mandatory to attend, there were regular family conversations, firemen would put out fires and also be called firefighters, and you were allowed to read and write! Montag was head of the government and also found a wife and had a son. His name was Harry Faber Montag. Years later, Montag passed away, and had a very big funeral because thousands of people came to pay their respects and talk about how great he was. After that, his son took over his job and had a family of his own. The End!
 The funeral.
