S: Autumn in New York - 2010

FC: Autumn in New York 2010 Edition

Once upon a time, in this magical city, Lived this lucky guy, with his girl oh so pretty. They were on top of the world when they were together, And it was a confirmation that this was forever.

The season was perfect to enjoy the town, In the Park, the leaves were red, yellow and brown. That pretty girl finally learned how to pack, Especially with all that she had to bring back! And while she was out buying pretty new coats, He got a chance to place a few UN votes, And together they went from the LES to midtown, Hung out in the Park, Harlem and back down.

Oh and the food – not enough can be said! The only tough part was choosing white or red. There was of course their reliable Italiano, But they also discovered the world’s best Mexicano! They tasted the whole world while in New York, There was French by the park, and Indian sans fork; Some amazing sushi as well as White Fusion, It’s almost as if it was all an illusion...

And while they were there, the time just flew, This was an uncommon chance, but that they knew; So they made the most of everyday they had there, Before coming back to Ottawa the fair!

Though the city was good, the news was not always, And some hours were spent in hospital hallways. But in the end, he was loved, and goodbyes were said, And he closed his eyes as he wished, with a book by his bed.

Back in the city, they had some laughs with good friends, Aided along, I must say, by the daily stipends. No matter the place, the time or the weather, Whatever they did was always better together. And though they knew the time would come to depart, When it did come, they left with a heavy heart. They loved the city and all they could eat, see and learn, And in their hearts they knew that they would return.

So back they went to North, great and white, And they still juggled cities, trains and the odd flight. They had decided the Earth was theirs to roam, For, in each other, they had found home.

And in case you thought this story was done, The best part is it has only just begun!
