NEW YEARS EVE PARTY at Sand Lake Church
One day, Nikki and I decided to stand outside in the falling snow and try to catch it in our mouths. It was so much fun! I snapped a bunch of pictures, and later sometimes when it was snowing Nikki would remind me to put my head back and spread out my arms to try and catch some snow on my tongue. | World’s Greatest Dad | Nicole
Danny and Kristy stopped by to see us on their way back to Idaho soon after New Year. | Jasper and Tate playing in the living room.
Just normal "around the house" type of stuff: Playing "Go fish" with Nikki...the boys acting crazy...Derrick reading to the younger two, and the boys watching TV while waiting to leave for school. | Nikki loves to look at books before nap time
Jeremy and I... not at our finest | The kids at breakfast time | Mary Gladowski...a dear friend who has the coolest tea set for Nikki to use

At home, Kendall got a blanket with a deer on it (from us) and some books about deer. That was what he said he wanted this year for his birthday. The green and yellow cookies were for his birthday snack to take to school.
Youth Rally 2011 - Sand Lake | Trina and I were in charge of food. It was a HUGE job.
Jeremy and I went to Eau Claire for our anniversary. We had a great time relaxing together and hanging out. Also, Jeremy presented these flowers to me the Sunday morning of youth rally and surprised me. Very much! This is 12 years for us now.
Our precious Nikki babe. She loves to pretend she is a tiger or puppy or frog when she gets out of the bath. She also loves to play with her dolls, to look at books, and to dress up.
Sleeping boys | This is a common sight around our house...Derrick playing computer and the other kids watching. | The King of the Castle

There was SO much laughter and fun conversation. I wished the night would never end. It was Thelma, Rachel, Gloria, Cindy, Mary June and I. | One of the highlights of the trip was going out to eat with my Flip Flop Friends. We went to a sushi place and had a wonderful time! Then we went to Thelma's place for dessert.
Then I traveled to Shannon (King's) house in Lancaster. I spent the night there and a good part of the next day. It was GREAT to catch up with her. We mostly just sat and talked and talked, while Rich watched the kids.
On Sunday before I headed out, some of my Flip Flop Friends and their families met up in Baltimore. It was wonderful, but bitter sweet because I had to leave from there.

Love is looking into someone's eyes and seeing yourself perfect for the first time in your life.
On June 5th we had a 40th anniversary party for Mom and Dad. at Debbie and Ben's house. They had a beautiful table set up out in the woods. We had a wonderful meal, a beautiful cake, and presented them with a scrapbook. | This was what Mom's face looked like when she said "A Scrapbook?" for her guess of what the gift was.
"A truly rich man is one who's children run into his arms when his hands are empty." | We celebrated Father's Day a week early because the kids were going to Ohio. We gave Jeremy gifts and cards, we had ribs for lunch, and we just hung out at home for the day. Good times!

Still more pictures from our camping trip with Wade's and Mike's. The kids got to lead the animals around the farmyard. They really liked that. Friday night the guys went to a race and Morgan and I sat up very, very late just hanging out and talking. Jeremy made his famous chicken and the guys just raved about it. Especially wade. I am really hoping we can repeat this fun experience next year!

Nicole's birthday party with a "Hello Kitty" theme was a huge success, but a tad stressful for this Mama!
"You are so precious to me, sweet as can be, children of ours" | These photos ^^ were taken on the way out to South Dakota. At one point, we stopped and Jeremy MADE the kids run around cuz they were being too wild in the van.

More Kilmer Family Reunion pictures. Sheryl has now joined our family as well. I think that Sheldon and Thelma were the only ones missing, besides Carol.
First day of school for each of our kids. Derrick and Kendall started back to school on the 1st of September (Derrick to 3rd grade and Kendall to 1st). This was their first year at Hayward, but the change went pretty smoothly. Nikki started pre-school about a week later.
One weekend in September the Poppe kids stayed with us for about 2 days while Mike and Morgan went away for the weekend. The kids had SUCH a great time together and it all went very well. Church Sunday morning was probably the hardest part!

Side by side, year by year... | Our weekend away for our birthdays (in Late September) included four-wheeling, staying overnight at Hotel Chequamegon, hanging out in Ashland, WI and Mike and Morgan Poppe keeping our kids. It was a really great weekend, despite the fact that Jeremy wasn't feeling so well.
& | One Saturday Shannon came over to help Daddy with some work, so Dena brought Ethan and they hung out for the day. Nikki really liked holding baby Ethan. | In October I went with Morgan and her Mom and a lady named JoAnn. We attended the Women of Faith conference in St. Paul. It was a really great time!
In November I did a blog post about my outfits that I wore for church on Sundays. These are just the pictures from that. I esp. like the picture of Jeremy and I.
UGLY Sweater Party | at Dave Kalli's

And the gift opening begins... | A Season of Love and Laughter | Because we did not have much else going on, we tried to make the gift opening stretch out a little longer by doing a dice rolling game. Opening the gifts was a lot of fun and I think everyone was happy with what they got!
Holiday Memories Warm Even The Coldest Of Days
Christmas at Kilmer's | On Christmas Day we went to my parents house and hung out there for the day. Lynette and Paul were gone to Grenada but everyone else was able to be there. Royce and Sarah joined us also. We had a good time just sitting around and visiting, eating yummy food, and just being together. It was also the day that Dad turned 60.
We had a really fun winter sledding day at Kraig and Liz' house during Christmas break. The kids played, the ladies chatted, and then the guys came in the evening for pizza and to hang out for the evening. So fun!
