21: So our Christmas Greetings has now become a New Year’s Greetings too! For once I had all my Christmas shopping, baking, and cards / letters done at the beginning of December, but I decided to wait to send them out until our new arrival came so I could add her into this letter. She was supposed to come by December 17th, so just in time for Christmas, Right? Well she decided to come a bit late therefore your Christmas greetings are late as well! Alaina Jean Pickering arrived around noon on Christmas Day at 9 lbs 1 oz. and 21 inches! The boys are very excited to have a little sister. Jason continues to work at Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution. Jason stays busy fixing cars, tinkering with small engines, finishing our house, wrestling with the boys, and gun and bow hunting. This year he shot a doe during gun season. Laurie continues to work part time at The Riverfront Dentist in West Bend. Laurie “retired” from teaching Sunday School after ten years. Laurie enjoys gardening (flowers, vegetables, and mainly weeds). Gavin is 5 and Garret is 4 years old. They are very close brothers and best of friends. Overall they enjoy the same things but, Gavin likes his tractors the most and Garrett likes super heroes the most. They have really been enjoying all the snow. They stay busy with Sunday School, story hour at the library, nature hour at the local DNR station, 1000 books before kindergarten and Wisconsin explorer programs. This summer Jason and I celebrated our ten year wedding anniversary. I guess that means we are getting somewhat old or some may say mature. We were spoiled this summer and took to two family vacations this year. First we went to Myrtle Beach, S. C. in May with the Maedke family. Two weeks later we went to the Outer Banks, N.C. with the Pickering/Faeh family. On both vacations we (about 20 family members!) rented a house on the beach with our very own pool and hot tubs. We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Belated Christmas and a new year full of God's Blessings

81: We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! Christmas is a great time to reflect on our many blessings of the past year. This year we celebrated my parents 40thwedding anniversary. We took two camping trips this year. Our first camping trip is our family’s favorite camping spot, Laurie’s Aunt Carol and Uncle Jeff Nell’s home up by Door County. The second camping trip was at Governor Dodge State Park with Jason’s family. In the fall the boys both played soccer for the first time. Gavin had his cousin Ethan on his team. Garrett had his cousins Bella and Eli on his team. We should have changed Garrett’s team name to “ Team Pickering” because half of the team were cousins and were coached by Jason. Jason had a large coaching staff of Pickerings too! Jason continues to work at Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution. Jason had some excitement on the road this year. He hit a dog, deer, and tree. Luckily he was never injured. Jason has had a busy year. He finished off three bedrooms and a bathroom in our basement. He converted his automatic truck into a manual, installed a new engine, and transmission. In his free time (insert laugh here ) he enjoys fishing, gun, and bow hunting. He shot a doe during gun season. Laurie works part time at The Riverfront Dentist in West Bend. Laurie continues to teach Sunday School amongst other church activities. She stays busy by cooking, cleaning, gardening, babysitting, teaching laundry. Laundry loads around our house can be adventurous. This year Laurie washed a bullet (Jason), rocks, and a frog. I suppose it could be worse. This year Laurie ran an obstacle mud course- Edge the Ledge- with all her sisters, only brother, brother in law, future sister in law, and two nephews. She ran a couple other races including a paint run. Gavin started school this year. He is in kindergarten at St. Lucas, Kewaskum. He is a very responsible, serious, and mature six year old. He is always helping Jason with all of his projects to include vehicle maintenance, house additions, shooting guns He is still very serious about his tractors, specifically Ford / New Holland Garrett is five. He is our little super hero. Sometimes he likes to claim he has super powers and can see all the way to Grandma’s house in Eden. He like Batman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Angry Birds, and John Deere tractors (of course he would be opposite of Gavin). He is the UNO Champion around our house. Both of the boys love their little sister immensely. They are both great brothers. They spoil her rotten and pick on her like crazy. At this point they still both adamant that they want to add another baby to the family. I am sure they will change their minds by next year. Not like it matters because it’s not happening! Alaina will turn one on Christmas Day. She is already walking and running all over the house chasing her brothers. When she is not pestering her brothers, she is busy terrorizing our house. We often call her our little tornado. Her latest thing is to pick up after us. You know like putting a shoe with the pots and pans, mail in the washing machine She is commonly found walking around the house carrying a book and a pen. I suppose she is making a list for Santa and tattling on her brothers. We would like to wish everyone Merry Christmas and a new year full of God’s blessings.
