S: Thomas, Nina, and Hilary travel to the Southern Hemisphere
FC: New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji
Dunedin, New Zealand | Hilary and Louis driving the delivery truck! | Sam, Nina, and Natalie in the Cadbury Factory
 Can you see the penguin?
Milford Sound, New Zealand | Kayaking in Milford Sound was a blast! We lucked out on the weather and our guide, Mel, who encouraged us to test our limits in the kayaks. | After kayaking, we jumped into the water in just our long johns! Did we mention that it was the winter solstice?!
A mini-hike on the way to Queenstown | The view from the parking lot | A self-timer shot
Queenstown, New Zealand | Thomas and Louis had a rock-skipping competition...it turned out to be one of Louis' many hidden talents. | The central Lake in Queenstown with the snowy ski slopes in the background
On our way up Franz Josef Glacier | Louis playing a trumpet duet with a street musician | Hilary looking out over the lake
Franz Josef Glacier , New Zealand | Hil putting on her crampons
Driving Adventures in New Zealand | Thomas and Louis communicating with antennae in the car
While driving, we spotted a woman walking a pony and had to make a U-turn to check it out! It turned out that it was not a pony, but instead a miniature horse. We were delighted! | Tido and Nina eating Fergburgers, the most delicious (and largest) burgers in all of New Zealand! | Tido enjoying a Tim Tam Slam Step 1. Bite two diagonal corners off of a Tim Tam cookie (essentially a rectangular Oreo coated in chocolate). Step 2. Using the cookie like a straw, suck hot chocolate through the cookie. Step 3. Once the cookie has become perfectly melty (about 4 seconds of using it as a straw), slam it into your mouth!
Cairns, Australia | Hilary and Louis continued to travel in New Zealand, while Thomas and Nina flew to Cairns to check some life dreams off the list. Scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef—check!
Thomas along the waterfront walkway, checking out some photos before our mini-hike in the Cairns botanic gardens | We read a lot about the Cassowary, a large flightless bird that is apparently quite dangerous | A cool sculpture along the waterfront walkway
Cairns, Australia | At the top of a (fairly sizable) hill in the botanic gardens. You can see the airport that we flew into! | An oafish lunch! A baguette with three types of cheese! | Relieved to finally be at the top! Cairns is not a chilly place, even in June...
Cairns, Australia | Not a sign you see everyday... | A local favorite—this sign was altered and replaced so many times that they just decided to keep it! | Always eating some type of ice cream...this one was a sampler—forest berries and mango!
Our favorite tour guide, Bill! What an expert! | Not a bad idea when there is a hole in the ozone layer above you... | Cute stencil-art around Cairns! | We packed our (heavy) bags and headed to Auckland for the night, before making our way to Fiji!
Matamanoa Island, Fiji | The views on the boat ride to our island were breathtaking. I've never seen water in those shades of blue! Our room at the resort was gorgeous! What a honeymoon suite!
 Matamanoa Island, Fiji
We thought of Mom when we saw this sign! "Desal In Take" | Oafish activities at the resort: tennis and chess! | The pool and dining area with the ocean backdrop
 Matamanoa Island, Fiji
Mom, Thanks for all the planning you put into this amazing trip. The long phone calls with airplane companies paid off! We had an incredible adventure and have you to thank for it! Lots of love, Thomas and Nina
