S: Galveston/Cruise July 2010
BC: Until we cruise again...
FC: Carnival Cruise 2010
We started Friday, July 9th, by leaving early enough to get to Galveston to enjoy the afternoon on the beach. We couldn't believe the water was so warm.
 My blue-eyed boogie boardin' babes.
The evening wouldn't be complete without going to the 'Rainforest Cafe' to eat.
and ending with their famous volcano dessert. | with no problem devouring it!
Then it was off to the hotel to enjoy the pool and hot tub. | Then Peyton and I went souvenir shopping before getting on the ship.....
This was an old abandoned hotel that was destroyed in a hurricane many years ago. We overheard they are planning to tear it down and build a mini amusement park on the boardwalk.
And it was finally time to get in line to board the ship.... | and I do mean in line.... LONG line.
J.P. had to park pretty far away and take a shuttle back to us. Here's Trey saying, 'Finally, you're here!'
After waiting in line, we finally got our key cards and an overview of the ship.... it was worth the wait.
It was finally time to get on and wait for the big take off.... | but first we had to find something to eat... first things first.
We even had dolphins escorting us out of the docking area... amazing!!
As soon as we left it was straight to the water slides.
Trey bought a book from one of the comedians, Brad Tassell, and waited for his autograph. They also had an arcade and we even tried our luck at bingo.
The ship left Saturday afternoon and by Sunday morning we had a beautiful view of bright blue water during our breakfast.
They wanted to try a fun, fruity drink. Peyton had a strawberry pina colada....
and Trey had a banana split.
We had a day at sea and decided to take advantage of the pool.
Then it was off to dinner and a show...
On Monday, we made our first stop in Progreso, Mexico. We were greeted by 'fiesta singers and dancers'..... | and some dude covered in silver paint. Huh?
We docked next to the Carnival ship, Truimph, out of New Orleans. | Behind this gate is where we were checked to make sure we were U.S. citizens. | Peyton bought a wooden necklace at this stand to put his shark teeth on. | Then it was off to enjoy our first excursion at an all inclusive resort.
We had to take a 45 minute bus ride through a very poor city to get to the beautiful resort. | On the way we saw some flamingos. You can see them if you look really close.
Then we arrived at the beautiful resort in the middle of nowhere.
Here you can see the pool and the ocean just on the other side of the bridge.
We started out with a little snorkeling.
J.P. and Trey enjoyed the buffet while mommy took advantage of some relaxation on the beach.
Of course if there's a lizard anywhere on the property, Peyton will find it.
Then it was off to the pool. It was the clearest pool we've ever seen. You could go under water and see all the way to the other end of the very large pool.
Then it was time to leave this beautiful paradise. There were a couple of girls, Lauren and Sam, who sat beside us on the way back. Lauren really took to Trey. She kept telling me, "Look out mama, he is too adorable!"
This was next door. Beautiful, but looked like it had been deserted. | This place looked the same, not sure why. | People were actually working on this one. | Our tour guide said a very rich man lived in this house. She said he was her future husband, she just hadn't told him yet.
Our 2nd and final stop was in Cozumel, Mexico. I've never seen more beautiful water. Peyton and Mommy first went snorkeling....
Peyton took to the water as if he was one of the fish.
He even let the air out of his life vest so he could dive down close to the bottom. | This little guy kept checking me out. You could tell they were used to being around people.
Then it was off to the beach party where we did some swimming and kayaking...
and played on some pretty amazing BIG toys in the ocean. | We actually went down the slide right in to the ocean. The beautiful white sand made it possible to see all the way to the bottom.
Trey LOVED playing ping pong. He had to be patient waiting for the paddles and ball to become available. Daddy and Trey stayed on the ship in Cozumel and pretty much had the run of the ship. They did the water slide about 50 times and played mini golf 10 times. He also enjoyed Camp Carnival when they offered time to play the Wii.
But I think his very favorite was being able to eat pizza and ice cream (frozen yogurt) 24 hrs a day. What?!? I didn't get a picture of him eating ice cream?? I had plenty of opportunities!
One night J.P. and I got to enjoy a beautiful sunset.
While the kids had fun naming all the critters that were left in our room. | The pig was Bob, the elephant was Fred and the bear was Steve.
I got up early Thursday morning to see many ships around us. | I knew that meant we were close to land... | Galveston land. Bye, bye crystal clear blue water. | We had sea gulls seeing us in.
Here we were waiting for them to call us off the ship. We were so sad it was over, but extremely happy for the fabulous time we had. We will never forget this trip!
