Do we have to?' complained Diego. 'Yes.! But to make this fun for all of us, we will learn outside today. So get your note pad and pencils ready and lets go outside.'
"Diego did you find something?" asked the teacher with a whisper | "No not yet!" Replied Diego
"Teacher why is it so sunny out today, I'm sweating" Diego asked as he was wiping his forehead. | "Well Diego it's caused by heliotropism" replied the teacher with a smile
"What's heliotropism, it's the first time I've heard this word" | "Well, it's the movement or growth in response to sunlight. The movement can increase radiation interception. And enhance photosynthesis and increase with each other
"Oh so thats why it's so hot" Said Diego with a surprise
"Teacher, do seasons have anything to do about plants growth" Diego asked curiously | "Well, Yes diego there is another tropism called, photoperiodism. This is where plants response to seasons for flowering."
"oh! so seasons do effect plants."
"Teacher" Diego said with a loud voice. "What is that noise" | Shhhh, Diego, quiet, "What is it now?" The teacher replied angrily
"The sound that you hear, is sonotropism, another tropism. "The plants are able to respond to sound by making clicking noises to communicate with other plants."
"I'm hot (burning) teacher, can we go inside?" Diego asked as he wiping his sweat. "Sure, lets go inside and while we are walking, I am going to tell you one more tropism." Said the teacher with a smile.
"The tropism that I will talk about is therotropism. This tropism is the movement of a plant or part of a plant in change of temperature. Common example is the curling of leaves in response to cold temperature."
"Class you can leave now, and have a great Spring Break!" and "Specially you Diego"
