Islwyn Thomas Walters was born October 29, 1917. He entered the war at the age of 21 and enlisted in the Royal Air Force and served as a Flight Sergeant. He was stationed all over Europe and was later shipped to Tobruk. He fought in Tobruk for four months until his squadron was forced to retreat. He spent the rest of the war in Egypt and returned home to Eastbourne in 1946 to his wife Gladys and his children.
