FC: Haiti Senior Mission Trip 2012
During Spring Break of 2012, the Senior class from Harvester went on a mission trip to Haiti. Words and pictures can't come close to describing everything we experienced there. We saw God move in so many ways. It really was a trip of a lifetime.
Travel Day | This was our first ever airplane flight. It was a pretty exciting experience!
 HAITI | Port-au-Prince
Going to Haiti was a step into a different world. Everything from the culture, the landscape, and the people was a unique experience to us.
VBS the first few days for the tent city kids was a blast! We put on skits for them and sang Jesus Loves the Little Children in Creole. After lessons we would play games or do arts and crafts with the kids. One of the girls, Wilenda, became really attached to me. The best part of the two VBS days was when we played with the kids before we started. We didn't know what we were doing half the time, but it was so much fun!
The kids we met were amazing! | Pha Phan | Amelie
David with Nelson | Lauren hugging Madjine
One of the most interesting experiences while in Haiti was our battle with the baby food. We had to dispose of a ton of spoiled baby food which proved more difficult than ever imagined. It took us all week and there was no simple solution. It was pretty gross!
On Saturday we went to a tent city to put on a VBS. We loved playing with the kids. | Tent City VBS | TENT CITY | VBS
"Home of the free... Because of the Brave" ~Author Unknown | God is good! | The Americans getting killed by the Haitians in soccer.
House of Hope | Herlande | Ashlove | Nephtalie
We fell in love with the kids in no time. | Every day our greatest joy was being able to spend time with the awesome girls (and one boy) at House of Hope. Their laughter was so contagious.! | Doing the "Bob"
Cleaning up the trash outside of HOH
 Hard at Work
 Tent City Visit
On our last visit to a tent city we did not do a VBS. Instead we brought a few frisbees and jump ropes and just loved on the kids there. It was such an eye opening experience. Seeing the conditions these kids lived in was truly heartbreaking. | Where's the baby?....There he is!
VBS for the House of Hope girls | We did the story of Palm Sunday and had the girls hunt for eggs!
One Amazing Group | Thomas | Steven | Dan | Claire | Kelly | Knepper | You be nice! | Rollll Tide!
